Golden Tickets are out and CP is on top for the 8th year in a row. Congrats to the park and all it's hard working employees on winning this award again. Even with all the bad things that have been talked about on here recently, it's good to see our park prevail yet again. Now lets just hope we don't have another year of "the best ____" advertising next year. :)
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Wow, this really does surprise me considering the griping I have heard lately, but I guess the readers of Amusement Today didn't notice much. Congrats to the park, and I'm looking forward to Labor Day.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Can you find a complete list of the golden tickets yet, or does that come out later? Great for CP to win best park again, but I was a little surprised.
Thrills Around the Corner!
Funny, after everything that has happened this year, all of the stories, even some complaints, and they STILL win. Shocking to me. I wouldn't of put money on CP winning this Golden Ticket this year.
TopThrill 182 yes you can at www.amusementtoday.com/2005gta82705.html that is the golden ticket award list it has the top 10 Woodies and some oter things there also.
1.Millennium Force
2.Top Thrill Dragster
3.Wicked Twister
4.Magnum
5.Raptor
Also keep in mind that the vote for this took place a long time ago so a lot of the problems this year might not have been taken into account. We'll see what happens next year.

Thanks Millennium Force 101. I looked on amusement today right before I posted, but they hadn't posted the results yet. I also subscribe to them, so I can't wait to see the top 50. Didn't look like the results changed much from last year.
Thrills Around the Corner!
The voting took place before the season even began. So therefore, none of the problems we've seen this year had occured yet.
2005/2006: Cedar Point - Millennium Force
2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator

Congrats Cedar Point!!!!
Now on to the 9th year!!!

Even if the voting did occur during the season, most of the problems we're seeing aren't really noticed by the GP (unless the readers of Amusement Today are like us). Oh well, cool fact anyways :)
Also, according to the PointBuzz news post, we got "best souvenirs" also, which kinda confuses me. Don't we have the same crap every amusement park has (mugs, pencils, etc)..? Or do they count things like the crafts section in Frontier Trail and the Snoopy Boutique also, even though they don't have OMQCEDARPOINT written all over them.
2008 - Games (Area 3/Scales)
2009 - Games Supervisor
2010 - Season pass holder.
Having been there last Sunday and Monday, I managed to have a blast, even with some of the big crowds, no FreeWay, and slow-downs like on Corkscrew (seat belts). Millennium Force crew was surprisingly on the ball - the huge queue was almost more than half-full, and yet the time from entrance to station was within an hour.
Congratulations, let's go for 10! *** Edited 8/28/2005 4:04:55 AM UTC by CoastersNSich***

The reason I think they won that award is you could walk not even a mile and find sovennier stands. They have a lot of uniqe sovenniers at Cedar Point. If you ever looked at the T-Shirts, those attract a lot of money. The artists that design those make a lot of money.

Word on the street is that they canned their ad agency, so I guess we don't have to worry about that.

Is a ceremony going to be held like last year?
Sorry if that's a stupid question....
-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut
Yes - it was held at Six Flags Fiesta Texas last Saturday.
I love Cedar Point souveniers, they sucked over $100 out of me in two days! They have the best t-shirts ever, I bought 3 of them and I finally got Cedar Point opoly!
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Oh, thanks Walt.
Why wasnt it held at CP this year? Is it just something they wanted to do differently this year? And on that note, why SF:FT?
It won best shows didn't it? Is that why? Am I asking to many questions?:)
Thanks in advance

If I had to guess, I'd guess that the host park picks up the entire tab for the event, in exchange for the publicity. It's no accident that the host park is always a winner in a significant category.
