Concerning Employee ID's

liebevision's avatar
Ok, I can't find this anywhere and don't know the answer for certain. Does anyone know for certain if employee ID's from other Cedar Fair parks will be able to get you into Geauga Lake. I know that other parks season passes won't, so I would assume employee ID's wouldn't... but then again... if I were CF I would have them valid but make the employees fill out a comment card, great way to know how much progress you're making on bringing the park up to the standards of your other parks.

Edit: I also think that having GL ID's valid at the other parks would help that park as well. If they have their employees go to Cedar Point and SEE what the CF training teaches them in action it could help greatly toward achieving that goal.

No one knows, we current GL employees asume they will, but until benefits and what not are annouced (after the sale is complete of course) then you should get an answer.

Question fo you current CF employee's how many people can you get into another CF park for free on one ID? For example at other SF parks I could get myself and one guest in free with my ID. Is this similar?

I believe they give you 4 free passes for friends/family for the year.... that's what my friend who worked at CP the last two years and now works at WoF told me.

With a Cedar Point ID, you can only get yourself into the park (Cedar Point and/or Soak City). For friends and family, you receive 4 complimentary [one day only] tickets which are valid for use any during the season you work *provided that* you are still an employee of the park and/or your have successfully completed your contract. This means that you can admit 4 people into the park for free [one time each]...after that, you can purchase additional tickets at a discounted rate.

I have no idea how employee IDs will work for admission from one park to another, but I imagine there won't be any problems. In fact, Cedar Point and Six Flags WoA had a ticket exchange agreement for employees last year (not that that matters anymore under the new management), but I'm assuming that there will still be ways for employees from each park to visit the other.

I've used my employee ID at other parks. It gets you and only you in.

Yeah... I know that through the Cedar Fair parks that you can yourself get into any park with your ID (although I don't think that applies to the one in the mall... can't remember the name) I was wondering if this is going to include GL this year or not. Because if it does... I'll probably go a few times... if not, I'll just stay at CP

Lee, I know that you know what you are talking about, but perhaps this wasn't the best way to word it. You get 4 complimentary tickets which are valid ONE day only each. The 4 tickets aren't valid for use throughout the season like a season pass would. I know the policy and i was a little confused, so I thought maybe other people might be too, but then again, I just woke up from a nap, I think my thinking cap is a little crooked.

That policy kinda sucks. SF was giving employees up to 12 free comp tickets for freinds and families, 8 season passes for $30 each as well. Well if my ID can only get myself in free I doubt I'll be going to CP as much as I thought this season, maybe next year when passes will probably be good at both parks.

It, does, but at teh same time it makes sense for the park financially. I was going to get a SP for Six Flags this summer.

But, when you think about it. All those free admissions add up fast. Personally if I had a free ticket, I'd pack some food. And picnic in the car all day. I wouldn't play games or buy souvenirs. Suddenly, the park lost profit with a guest who just had fun for free. Then how many free admissions are in the park everyday....

Great idea for attendance, bad idea to have a way to pay your employees. Can't pay with no money ;) I think Cedar Fair's employee benefits policy is right in the middle.

That is part of SF's problems. They have been giving away the gate and hoping people spend in park... and they didn't.

I don't know how true that is.... I spent probably $200 in the park last year. Between souvineers and food. Then again... I went 37 times last year And got nachos and dippin dots nearly every time.

All I know is I went to CP 3 times last season and spent a total of $24. That was only parking.

I guess I can see the point, however, I do wish that we got a friend in free with our IDs, My friends(gf mostly) dont buy season passes and wont this year, so we would only go if she got in for free or discounted(we're cheap that way lol). I guess I might have to spend a little cash there now since they are paying me. Oh well, how this simple sale effects my summer plans so much.

By the way that was SF's employee benefits program for as long as I was there, before the attendence went south. lol.

I can see giving out a COUPLE of season passes to each employee... but not 8 of them...espically not if it was CP season passes that cost what, 100 bucks a piece or so! (I know mine was, but I have parking and jcc...I still need to figure out what I'm doing with those blank Cedar Point season pass, JCC, and parking certificates.)

A friend and I were both going to buy Six Flags season passes. I bought mine first, and they give you a coupon book with around 15 days of free admission for friends. I told my friend not to buy a pass, and we'll just go on the days the coupons are valid (most are sunday only, but theres a few for any day of the week). He'll pay me like $5 each time he uses a coupon until we've both paid the same. Turns out to be a season pass for less than 1 regular day ticket. And I don't spend any money once I'm in the gate, so six flags will have to entertain me and my friend all summer long for $35 each (50 for the pass, 20 for the season parking). Cedar Fair is too smart to loose profits like this.

Shawn

Wouldn't they still offer the one free ticket deal they did last season? After 30 days of work, you could get your four free CP tickets, and then one free ticket to either SFWoA or PKI (I went to PKI :P)? I do belive the ONE free ticket comes from some sort of employee ticket exchange deal, where they give us X amount of tickets, and we give them the same amount (all for employee COMP tickets). Someone correct me if I'm totally off base here. I'd like to think they would still offer that if they do not accept CP ID's as admission this season.

My hopes are that they WILL accept CP ID's because I want to hit up GL for the first time. I know last season I went to both MIA and DP with my CP ID (planning on it again!). If not, oh well, I'll end up shelling out the cash for it! Gotta compare X-Flight to Superman at SFoG ;).

Heh, Vanessa, I think I noticed that earlier but you already clarified it so I won't worry too much.

I also should have added that you have to have successfully worked for 28 days before you are eligible to receive any free tickets.
