Your mom is to fat to ride TTD.'s avatar

Question: Do the LSM's come on the track allready ro do the have to put them on by hand? So im guessing that if its the second one they are not installed yet.

Joel Zumaya's fastball is only 17MPH slower than dragster!! Go Tigers!

Nice---Pujols can hit anything. wait the whole lineup can hit fastballs. I hope Detroit can deal a curveball like Wainwright's.

It's the NL's turn this year!

It appears to my eye that the transfer track is in place! :)

1) Maverick 2) Millennium Force 3) Top Thrill Dragster

Yeah, I agree that this won't be the most exciting off season, ala Dragster. However, they will continue working on the electrical (aka LSMs, etc.) as well as the theming. Man, this is gonna seem so long. Anyone here know opening day so I can start my own countdown?

I think May 9th?

Awesome!! Wait, that's over six months away :(

I was at the Point yesterday (Friday) and I have to say, pictures don't do this ride justice. Maverick looks incredible in person. I could just imagine those 3 car trains running the course. Once they finish up the ride with the theming, LSM's, and some trees, it will be a picturesque beauty. After seeing Maverick up-close and in-person, I am more excited then ever to ride this roller coaster.

Hail to the Victors

I know it would've been way more complex to orchestrate this idea, but I wish the station and launch would've been reversed (top and bottom). I might feel differently once in the park, but I wish the end of the ride was at ground level. It seems so disconnected from the midway right now being way up in the air like that. I think Dragster is the best coaster in the park as far as engaging the guests. It would've been cool to stand on the midway and watch the faces of riders as they returned to the station on Maverick. Sorta like you used to be able to stand there and watch people smile, laugh and wring out their shirts after the drop on WWL.

Otherwise, the ride looks amazing. I can't wait to see how the rest progresses! :)

^^ I utterly agree, I haven't seen that much of the construction but this is from what I have. The most recent time for me was more or less August 26th, though I'd have gone today if possible. What I saw then confirms exactly what you're saying, pictures can never truly give a ride the justice it deserves. Maybe that's from an emanating force that is felt in the park that can't be felt from pictures, I don't know.

^ Now that you mention that, I would have to say that I somewhat agree with you, Tim. Dragster does a superb job of involving the midway into the ride "experience." I noticed that quite a bit this year, everyone watching the launches and all.

The track completion moves the ride just one step closer to completion. There will be quite a bit going on over the off season, but nothing like the track assembly.

Test runs down start untill next year, right?

"Water will be involved." MrScott 2006

This is Awesome seeing the track complete now. What's cool is they can start on doing more vertical construction on the station and reconfiguring the old White Water Landing Station. When I was looking at Maverick, It was dark, because it was dark and foggy, but I walked around and Maverick looks Great. I can just imagine walking through the line and seeing three trains going at once on the circuit. Now that vertical construction is over they can start smoothing out the land, maybe they can begin planting trees again. Once Spring comes, they can start doing the real landscaping, such as plant shrubs, and flowers.

Unless I looked at the wrong calendar, I think opening day will probably be May 5, 2007. May 9 is a Wednesday. :) I wish CP opened sooner like King's Island and Worlds of Fun. I know, spring is a couple weeks earlier for them, but April is no worse than October here, except the lake is a bit colder. Only one weekend left to ride on... :(

That's comedy gold right there....

I thought it was common knowledge that I hated Ohio State. :)
