Commericial Song

Is the "Come Away, Get Away" song a pre recorded song or a custom park song?

Not sure, I know that I have to mute the tv every time I hear that song. Whoever sings it sounds like the guy who sings the Full House theme. Add shots of coasters and rides that aren't even at CP and we have one of the worst commercials for the park I have seen yet.

At first I thought it was a pre-recorded song due to the fact that it didn't mention Cedar Point or other amusement park related subjects, but I googled the lyrics and so far I'm not coming up with anything, so it may in fact be a custom park song.

I've seen the same commercial used for Wonderland. It's a good commercial. It may not appeal to teenagers, but teens aren't the age group that's going to put the per-capita spending up.

The song doesn't annoy me nearly as much as the fact that a good percentage of the rides aren't even at Cedar Point.

Like I have said on the other thread about the new Cedar Point commercial, I love it. Sure it has flaws...but I love anything about CP. :) And it is not the only commerical out right now. There is the Maverick commercial, and the 17/75 rides are coasters commerical.

If the "Come away, come away, get away with me" song was for used in any other commerical, I see how it would be annoying. But I love it because it reminds me of Cedar Point.

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

I have to agree with you Jesz. Every Time I hear that song, it gives me a good feeling inside like "Yeah I want to be there" feeling. My favorite commercial is the one from 2004. Where it says "Come ON, Get ON, CEDAR POINT! This one is cool though because the first time I heard it, I thought it was a commercial for a new product being advertised. Man I love the outcome of the surprise. :)

Too bad Cedar Fair doesn't have a 'brand' to sell, it would make their combined marketing much easier... (e.g. Sea World's ads that say 'attractions vary by park')

I heard a radio ad on 93.1 DOUG FM from Detriot today. It had visitors talking about the rides and what their favourite part was. It was a pretty good sequence. It also mentioned Maverick being best new ride of 2007.

^^ I actually LOVE the fact that Cedar Fair doesn't have a "brand" for all of their parks. It lets each park feel more like a unique getaway, instead of just a franchise (i.e. Six Flags) :)

That is my favorite CP commercial too. I also like the full 1 minute long version that they have this year. It does a good job of highlighting the rides, coasters, and on site hotels.

EDIT: I dug up the link to the 2004 commercial.
(You have to copy and paste the whole thing into your browser, I couldn't get it to show up as a link properly):

Goodbye MrScott

John

I just got back from a week in the DC area and saw a commericial for Kings Dominion featuring the same song/video with a few clips changed to make it a KD ad. Has anyone see the video anywhere else?

I saw it used as a Kings Island commercial as well. All the Kings Island commercials seem to have a 2 second clip of Delirium and one of Drop Zone, which are slipped in with a bunch of generic wood coaster/other park footage. :(
When I heard the song start playing I was pretty excited because I thought for some reason we had a Cedar Point commercial playing, and almost the entire commercial was the same.

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

Does anybody have the link to the TV Video of the new Cedar Point Commercial? And I'm talking about the "come away" tv commercial.
