If by pyromusical you mean that the fireworks were accompanied by music, then yes it was. In the park and on WCPZ radio.
The fireworks were about 20 - 25 min. long and it was shot from the parking lot by Disaster Transport out over the beach.
They had a lot of interesting pieces. I don't know much about fireworks, but I can describe some of the pieces.
They had some blue stars that were single very large blue stars in the sky. There were pieces that looked like Saturn's rings around a sparkling gold globe. Some red, white and blue globes. A few pieces where the individual elements took off and scattered with a whistling sound. Some nice sparkling gold explosions that ended with purple points. A piece where a red heart was formed by what looked like a chain.
Overall it was a great show, the single shots were all complex and sophisticated. It wasn't until the grand finale that you saw typical ordinary fireworks explosions.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
There is nothing "super saver" about a Zambelli display.
Having worked with them on a few displays, there is a reason they are refered to as the "First Family of Fireworks" .. One of the most professional companies I've ever had the honor of working with.
As for the setup, the mortars are actually out on the beach off the "employee" parking lot.
June 11th, 2001 - Gemini 100
VertiGo Rides - 82
R.I.P. Fright Zone, and Cyrus along with it.
Let me explain the "super saver".
I was talking about the finale, or lack thereof a finale. The finale should make you go: WOW! WOW! YES! WOW etc. for an extended period of time - like it used to in the 80's and 90's. It was always at least a few minutes long, and there was always a first shorter finale and a second longer finale. The finales on the 4th this year and last year were yawnfests compared to years earlier.
That my friends is a "super saver".

While I didn't see their show this year I have too side with Tambo. The last two years it has slowly gone downhill. As for this years show I would have expected it to not be as good as last year...remember they had opening day fireworks. Where do you think that money came from?? Probably the 4th of July show. (which I guess the total amount is between 100k-200k, maybe far off).
Zambelli Also puts on Huron Riverfests show, and anymore I am starting to like that show better then CP, with more variety to it.
Rob is right though Zambelli are the experts in shows and are not super savers in how they shoot it off. If anyone has watched Thunder over Louisville that is their show too.
One show I like watching is Music city in Nashville Tennessee each year. (with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra). They usually don't let you leave disappointed.
Anyway, I would like to see CP put on a jawdropper instead of these average shows, we know they have the money. By jawdropper I mean 500k + around 30min - 1hr competing for the best show in the nation. Maybe that is a far stretch, as I don't know who has it, and how much it costs.
