Does anyone think the traffic situation will be that bad again this year, if I was going to go for 3 days during Halloweekends, it would be on Columbus Day weekend.

I would avoid that weekend if possible. That weekend is the most crowded weekend of the entire year. But weather can also impact how crowded it will be. If it's nice like last year, it will be insanely crowded.

Maybe I will go for the three days- arrive Friday, Leave Sunday, but we will leave earlier on Sunday before everyone is trying to leave at the same time. Or, I just might not go that weekend, Fastlane will probably be expensive, and the Fastlane lines will probably be long. Mean Streak will probably have a line.

^^last year as a senior in high school I took dual enrollment, high school and college classes. Neither school had off the Monday after Columbus Day. That was such a long day after being at cedar point for nearly 12 hours the day before

I was not present last year for Columbus Day, but since I am a frequent visitor of the park, I feel as if drastic measure can be taken (in conjunction with police departments) to assure issues do not arise.
They are definitely on the right track with the three lane exit procedure on the causeway. When the lanes merge, however, there will be bottlenecks. How is this fixed?
Direct all traffic out of CP in three lanes all the way to the light on Rt. 6, and have police manually managing traffic without the lights. This will still cause issues because RT. 6 is only one lane, so infrastructure upgrade is much needed.
As for the parking lot issue, as long as CP keeps a constant lane of traffic flowing out of that lot (the third lane) then they should be solid.
Close Rye Beach Rd. from being used as an exit. Cars cannot make left turns out of there on to Rt. 6 with a massive amount of traffic coming from the causeway.
Have police directing traffic turning on to Rt. 2 and US 250.
Just my two cents.
People turning left to get to Rye Beach Rd. should just use the chausee exit and they can have someone direct traffic on Rt. 6 if needed on very busy days. Not allowing people to leave the area by using Rye Beach Rd at all would be pointless. There are hotels and restaurants over there and if you came from east of Sandusky there's no point in driving through Sandusky to get to Rt 2 if you can just get on at the edge of Huron.
