Apologies if this has been discussed at length already, but is there anybody crushing it harder than the orange paint salesman in Sandusky, Ohio?
Why are so many of the rides (especially in the middle of the park) various shades of red/orange?

There are a lot of interesting colors out there. Why the lack of creativity?

Red and orange paint are more drastically discounted in price because nobody wants them? That's at least what my daughter thinks, lol. Anyhow here are some color schemes (tracks/supports) I'd like to see at CP someday.
Black w/ silver, white or purple.
Green w/ turquoise blue.
Gold w/ silver.
I haven't seen that many coasters with these color combos.
I worked for a park who did a color study once. Blues were the most appealing color in the summer months. Even back then we discussed our confusion why so much red/yellow was used at Cedar Point. To me, red and yellow, when used together is one of the worst combos unless you are McDonald's or Denny's.

Hunger. Red and yellow together supposedly send signals to the brain that induce the feeling of hunger.
This is why so many restaurants use that color combination. It wouldn't surprise me if that's part of the reason that combination was used for some of the rides in the park.
“Warm colors (red, orange, and yellow) are generally thought to evoke feelings of happiness, optimism, energy, and passion. They can also be associated with excitement, danger, and anger.”
There is definitely a reduction in color diversity not just at cedar point but everywhere. First thing I noticed about SC was the red and gray. I miss the boldness of Mantis. Would love to see ID go dark green and brown. Ah well I never notice coaster color when I’m riding so that’s what matters I suppose.
First ride; Magnum 1994
Absolutely.
I'm with you, though, on the diversity of color schemes throughout. Using red over and over again doesn't make sense unless there's a financial reason (and I really do think Kinzel was probably in on the McDonald's train of thought when it came to guests needing to eat).
Looking back, Sirens Curse will be the first coaster built from the ground up to use red as a primary color since Maverick in '07. That really isn't that bad until you realize all 4 of the others are in a straight line to the back of the park.
