Thank you for your answers, there are plenty of facts for my daughter to make an excellent essay.
Bholcomb, she said your drugs and tornado response was hilarious, it made her crack up. :)
Thanks again.
Now, how do you get a college kid to do her homework? Just kidding :)
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
Ben, while my thing is Cedar Point and animals, my boyfriends thing is cars. And yes, he definately wants to go fast. :) He has a 1995 Turbo Mitsubishi Eclipse. It is made by Diamond Star Motors (DSM), and it is his obsession.
I come to Point Buzz and talk on the Forums. He goes to DSM Tuners to talk on their forums. 100mph also isn't the fastest that he has been. That is just the fastest he will go with me in the car, for the fear of getting slapped. ;)
"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"
Going 100mph in anything short of a plane or roller coaster really scares me. Fastest I've ever driven a car was a little over 90, and that was so I could get past a tornado path instead of being in it.
Also, you can tell her I'll be here all week. And I'm single. ha
Jesz, I'm sure he always does that on a closed track, or other safe track not governed by speed limits. He is a law abiding citizen of course! ;)

lol If you consider the express way a safe track, then sure.. haha. The only time he does it is when it is late at night. and there is not another single soul on the road. As far as I know anyway. I think the fastest he has been was 120mph.
He does know what he is doing though. Driving is in his blood. And he has been working on cars since he was probably 9 years old.
Ben, I'm glad I'm not alone! I feel like a wuss when I'm screaming at him to slow down. But you never know what could happen.

Well, if you are looking for a scientific point of view, this quote from Robert Coker pretty much sums it up:
"At the amygdala's request, pain-suppressing endorphins are released, a potentially life saving reaction when faced with real danger. If we're under attack, we need to fight or flee, and in either case, we can't stop to nurse our wounds; hence, we become self-drugged so that we feel minimal discomfort. Endorpins, as marathoners well know, are responsible for what is commonly called a runner's high. Our fear can actually generate a mildly euphoric buzz."
-Robert Coker
I ride rollercoasters because I love them. I just love the fact that I have no control over where I am going and I love the speed of them. I guess you can say that I am an adrenaline junkie and neeed to hit these massive rides to get my adrenaline high. I also think that I have some sort of chemical imbalance in my head that makes me "crave" the pure rush of a rollercoaster. I hope that this helps a little.
