Its one of the kids birthday gifts to go to CP during HW. We've never been during Halloweekends before though. We, thankfully, opted to not go last weekend...busiest of the year, and plan to go Saturday, but its supposed to be about 57 degrees and windy (wind gusts of 40-45 mph). I read in another post about CP closing rides if it gets too windy, so I looked at the CP policies on the CP site. From experience I know the Wind Seeker closes with what seems like mild wind, but we're COASTER people. The site doesn't states how windy it has to be before the coasters close. If there really are 45 mile an hour gusts, does anyone know how much time after the gusts, that things remain closed? This would be a pretty sucky gift for this kid if all the coasters are closed on the day we go.
Also, I've just read somewhere on this site that all the Halloweekends are super busy. I know this past weekend (columbus weekend) was super packed (of course I would have expected that since it was so warm). Is it typically super busy when the weather is 60 degrees or less? We're not afraid of the lines, I'm just wondering about keeping everyone warm while we wait (we're ride warriors...so we expect to wait).
Just trying to figure out if it would be better to go on Saturday (when we can have a "longer" day at CP) or on Sunday, (a "shorter" day) but since its not supposed to be windy, we have a better chance of actually being able to ride.
We've got a 3 hour drive and 3 kids so I'm just hoping a HW veteran can give their suggestion or share their experience.
Thank you.
Despite Sunday being the shorter day, that's by far the better day to go. Generally, lines are a lot shorter on Sunday as to Saturdays.
I feel like tomorrow is going to be a crappy day as far as weather goes... and with a three hour drive and three kids, I don't think it'd be wise to risk it. Especially when Sunday is supposed to be pretty nice, a little on the chilly side, but nice nonetheless.

Like Spork said, Sundays are better than Saturdays, and that's the common sense stuff we talk about here.
The HalloWeekends event is very popular, but it's also very dependent on weather. I wouldn't expect a huge crowd tomorrow, but who knows for sure? How long will the rain linger in the morning, if at all? Windy and cool, yes, but it also looks like it's going to be sunny for most of the day. If this was an exact science, we wouldn't need this this. :)
