cold weather nad Cedar Point

Hello all.I have a question and I hope its not a off the wall one.
I am planning to head to the Point this Sunday and am a little concerned about the temperatures they are forcasting(as of Thursday morning mid 40's for the high).
How does the cold temperatures affect the coasters and is it possible for the coasters to be shut down due to "cool" temperatures?
This is my first and only trip this year due to a very busy work year and was unable to get there this year and I am hoping to take at least one ride on dragster.
Thanks in advance for your help.
The cold usually doesn't bother the coasters too much. TTD may have a tough time getting going (ROLLBACKS!) and Gemini will probably only have one side going. It is the wind that bothers the coasters more than the cold. This should be the coldest days that TTD has been running so it will be intresting to see how it runs.

The year before last they had those big gas heaters (like those you see at NFL games) under the station to keep the wheels warm. MF is prone to rollbacks when it's cold, or at least used to be with certain wheel formulas. I think they're good to go as is now.

What time does the water show start?

Only place I know of that had coasters closed due to cold last year was the "other park" down near Cleveland. Problem is, on the Friday night when we decided to come, they closed the whole damn park, leaving my friend and I SOL.

I know Cedar Point will at least keep as much open as possible, and I am pretty sure I that closing weekend 2001 was really cold, but coasters still operated, even as people were all bundled up!

Sorry about the SF comment, but it was annoying last year. They told us the hydrolics on the coasters would not work right if it was below freezing (or something like that), but fom my experiance at Cedar Point, CP would run whatever rides they could in that situation, especially Wicked Twister, since it can run in almost any conditions!

Riding coasters when it's 39 degrees outside with a wind chill of 18 degrees isn't really all that much fun. That's what the temperature was on Friday night of closing weekend in 2001. And the cool wind coming off from the lake almost becomes unbearable on the loading platform of Mean Streak and Wicked Twister. Dress warm and if you wear a hat, hang onto it. The wind from most coasters will blow it right off. On Saturday of closing weekend (2001), I took the train to Frontier Town and noticed 4 hats on the ground at the bottom of Millennium Force's first drop.
I'm going both days this weekend. I dont care if its raining or cold *despite I'll complain the whole time* I'm still going out to get my last "thrills and chills" in before its long gone for 188 days. :(

On Saturday of closing weeken 2001 I rode the MilF! in a t-shirt. Probably one of the best ride experiances EVER! Closing Weekend 2001 was one of my best trips to the point!

I'll be there atleast once, probably more, rain or shine. Whatever problems the cold weather causes are well made up for by the non-existant crowd.

Im going to stay at Breakers both Friday and Satuday nights for Closing Weekend. I don't care how cold it is, I do this every year.

Dress for it, and it's not so bad. At least three layers over your core, and gloves help.

I've had some of the best days ever at CP below 40 degrees.

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

If it is below 40, then the crowds shouldn't be too bad either. However, when it's cold out is when you actually want to be waiting in line because of all the body heat. Either way, big or small crowds, have fun.
