Several problems...
That place opened as a really nice Hardees, then Hardees, through no fault of Cedar Point, went down the donniker, taking that location along with it. Cedar Point was smart enough to see that coming, so they cancelled the franchise (or at least didn't renew it) and created Coasters. Coasters was pretty good, and CHEAP compared to food in the park, and the highlight item was the fries. Odd thing, though...you could get chili cheese fries there, but they weren't on the menu...and they were the only thing they sold that required the cheese sauce. Just the kind of oddball food things that Cedar Point is notorious for (ever notice that *every* menu item in the Silver Dollar Cafe is served with fries? I wonder if they've ever connected that to sluggish sales of other side order items...).
Anyway, then Coasters was joined by TCBY in such a way that to look at the place, you'd never know that there was anything available in there other than TCBY. Yet another nail in Coasters coffin. Now for the final death blow: Coasters did not serve breakfast, so it was not a good place to stop on your way to the Po!nt in the morning (in fact, the place wasn't even open...). Then at the end of the day, you're leaving the park, heading down the Causeway, looking for a bite to eat, and guess what? Coasters is closed. Two areas which could be potential gold mines for that restaurant during the park season, and they blew it off.
I generally got good food and poor to mediocre service whenever I ate there, pretty much on-par for out-of-park Cedar Point food service. But I can't say I'm sorry to see it closed since it was never open most times that I drove by.
