So I thought this might be a fun topic. What coasters will you ride once and say "OK I don't need to ride that again this trip?"
My one trick ponies:
-Magnum, lap bar and my lap don't get long well on the air time hills
-Cork Screw, hurts
-Ragarou - could probably ride it twice but would ruin the rest of my day
-Raptor - could probably ride twice but would ruin the rest of my day
All the other coasters I find myself running back to
The only one that stands out to me is Mine Ride. Doesn't do much for me. Magnum is amazing as long as you pull the seat belt tight and lap bar loose, Corkscrew isn't bad at all, and I don't really get motion sick at all.
Now, X2 is the only ride I truly had no desire to ride again. It's possibly the roughest ride I've been on.
CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium
Can I say Voyage? One and done, every time.
I find no rides at CP or KI to be particularly heinous. Rougarou is a pass and Firehawk is meh.
Vortex is usually a one and done ride for me.
1999: First visit
Halloweekends- Harvest Fear, Tombstone Terror-Tory
Ride Operations- Professor Delbert’s Frontier Fling
The belt is already tight for me on Magnum and I don't have a problem with the lap bar but my butt gets a little sore from being slammed down.
My kids hate Corkscrew and WT and will never ride them again. My 14 year old says Corkscrew is "demeaning".
I prefer to ride Rougaru only once as I don't want to risk a 2 hour drive home with a headache.
The Boss at SFSTL made the mistake of a second round once and regretted it. Will ride Ninja these days only if I am feeling really brave (or stupid).
Nothing for me is really a 'once a trip' type coaster... For me, if it's not worth riding a 2nd time, it's not worth riding the first time... There are a dozen other coasters that I'd love to be on, why spend my time on the others???
Cedar Creek Mine Ride - the lapbars.
Power Tower (drop side) - The height, especially going up slowly.
Top Thrill Dragster - I don't like being launched, especially at 120 mph.
I never thought about including rides outside of CP lmao but if that's the case
I am going to add:
Green Lantern at GA, that is if I even decide to ride it at all
Batman at GA
Mine Ride
Corkscrew
Blue Streak
Mean Streak (moot point I know)
Iron Dragon - but I hear it has VR now? Haven't ridden with VR if true.
iron dragon does have VR but only after 6pm. I didn't try it when I was there
Surprised to see blue streak on this list, I love that ride. perfect amount of rattle and roll for a wood coaster
Magnum - I wonder why I ride after I experience it's end stretch virtually everytime.
Iron Dragon VR
Blue Streak - Obvious
Mine Ride - Reasons
To an extent Rougarou, ride is just so marred by the ping pong head restraint banging. Raptor usually once is enough, it's like the roughest ride on the body there to me.
Sacrificing playing video games to ride roller coasters.
Single rides?
BS, CCMR, TTD, GK.
How about the coasters you won't even ride once on a trip? Minus the kiddie coasters.
Valravn, Corkscrew, WT, Iron Dragon.
Joe
Eat 'em up, Tigers, eat 'em up!
A few I'll just forget about during a trip. I've kicked myself a few times because of procrastination. Wild Cat being a good example.
Mantis was a good example of only riding if I was with a first timer to the park (Thankfully those days are gone). Other than the kiddie coasters CCMR is always avoided. Not because I don't like it, but I'm just too tall and that results in a painful ride.
Overall while in the park I just ride what the people with me want too. If alone I'll just let the Vodka guide the way ;)
If we are including KI, Vortex and Invertigo top the list for one and done.
Rougarou, Iron Dragon, and Corkscrew are never rides...
Raptor, WT, GK, and Valravn are one and dones for me. TTD is also a one time thing, but wouldn't be opposed to re-rides if there was no line. The first three are painful, and I think TTD and Valravn just aren't that exciting to wait in line again.

With Rougarou, I've found that if I keep my head/neck firmly back against the headrest and lean slightly into the direction of each turn, my head banging is minimized a great deal.
As to the question - MOST if not all of the coasters are one and done for me just because I can go almost any evening after work. The only time I have a marathon day at the park is if family or friends are visiting from out of town, which doesn't happen very often. So luckily there is always tomorrow for me!
If I had to name low priority it would probably be Corkscrew, Blue Streak, CCMR, Wicked Twister, and Magnum - in that order of low to high. If my back was in perfect health or my gut was a bit more slim, those would probably all come off the list. Maybe with the right chiropractor and diet I will be back to 100% GO on them all! (I can only hope)
Proud to have fathered a second generation coaster enthusiast destined to keep me young at heart and riding coasters with a willing partner into my golden years!
