...and the most anticipated event of summer 2003 is...
The Matrix: Reloaded!
Magnum was running as well as it has in recent years (which is to say excellently). Even with the trims it was hauling.
I didn't get the freebe's since i rolled in after noon. I thought that the night was going to be a waste after the slight rain at the end of the regular operating hours and when the Gemini opened with one train on one track. But in the end things shaped up with great rides.
I too heard an op mention that TTD would be down until a part cleared customs. I guess we'll see how true it is soon enough.

2003 counts:
Millennium Force Laps: 3
Magnum Laps: 3
Raptor Laps: 2
Trips to CP: 4
People who were there for Dragster in the morning (and even the people who got there at 6:30am didn't get it) got 2 passes to the front of the line (one non dragster, one freeway for dragster) to make up for no Dragster.

I think that was the problem. There never really was any announcement as to what the night ERT would be. We grabbed a bite at Johnny Rockets as the park was closing with plans to head out to Wicked Twister when we saw that DT was open. Did a quick check to make sure that Wicked Twister was running? It was. Bonus! Then went back to catch Magnum and MF ERT but it was obvious that Milly was down and while I saw a quiet train run on Gemini, after not seeing another one go by for some time I figured it was just a fluke late-night test run and left it at that.
Beyond that, it was a great event. Save for Dragster everything was better than advertised. Not just the caramel apples and salt water taffy but the 6:30 ERT on Millennium Force started a few minutes early -- as did the 7:30 ERT on Raptor, Power Tower and even Blue Streak (even though it was said that it wouldn't start until 8am).
It was really strange that they closed MF for the night ERT. I was in the MF line at the end of the regular sessions, and rode at about 10:05pm, headed back to the entrance to be told it was no go. I was pretty frustrated at that, BUT - I did get 14 rides on WT in the ERT!
I thought the park did a pretty good job under the circumstances - it must have really sucked for them going into Friday knowing that they didn't even have the replacement part.
For me personally it was no big deal that TTD was down - I live 1 1/2 hours from the park, I've already got 4 rides (2 in the front seat), and I'll ride it at least 10x more this summer. I did speak to people who had come a long way (like Texas & Florida) who were understandably extremely disappointed that TTD was down.
I got 8 MF, 11 Raptor, and 14 WT rides on the day plus 5 "others", which is pretty awesome in my book.

MF= 56 rides
2002 MF crew, Cad Car crew, and Mean Streak crew
Cp did there best to make up for ttd being down. They dident have to add any other rides to the ert, but they did. If they dident add anymore rides to the ert, than people would ***** about it even more than they are now. Its not like they wanted ttd to be down, but it was.......deal with it.
Belive me, I am bummed about it being down.........but life goes on.
