I can't seem to find a good run-down of the CoasterMania Q&A session. If someone could hook me up, I would definitely appreciate it. I did see the Area 51 question in someone's TR... that Bryan, so tricky.....

I'll try to remember as many questions as I can so forgive me if I leave a few of them out. (they are for sure out of order but oh well) And please remember, these Q/A's are majorly paraphrased so if I left something out, forgive me. :)
1. The Visionland question. It was asked if Cedar Fair had thought about purchasing Visionland. REPLY: they are always looking to expand and if the right park comes along at the right price then sure.
2. Why did you paint Gemini and not Mantis? A. all the coasters are on a painting schedule. Mantis is next then Magnum after that.
3. Why did they shorten the seatbelts on MF? A. CP has to comply with the laws in the state of Ohio and the law in Ohio states that you must abide by the manufactur's design specifications. Intamin said they wanted the belts shorter so CP had to comply. ADD ON... what about an extenda-belt? A. We'll look into that.
4. The 12E on the side of DT is widely rumored to be Dick Kinzel's shoe size. Is it? A. Nobody really knows what the 12E stands for. Probably just something that was put on as a part of themeing.
5. Will Millennium Mania return next year. A. No.
6. What going on in Area 51? They weren't able to speculate on this one.
7. What happened to the tunnel on White Water Landing? A. CP did a cost effectiveness study to either repair or remove the tunnel and it was decided that it was best to remove them.
8. Will Soak City ever be included in the price of admission to CP like at SFWOA or PKI? A. They introduced the ride and slide ticket and that's the way they see fit to deal with the situation.
9. A question was brought up about building a dueling CCI with like six trains. A. They'll look into that.
10. A question was asked as to if CP would build a major sit-down multi-looper. A. We'll take that into consideration.
11. Why didn't they make a raising and lowering floor for WT? A. The manufacturer hasn't worked out all the kinks with a raising and lowering floor yet.
12. What are your educational backgrounds? A. I can't remember exactly what they all said. Sorry. Monty Jasper had a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I do remember that.
That's all I can remember for now. I'll repost others if I can remember them. One guy (I can't remember what aspect of the park he was in charge of) made mention of the fact that he reads GTTP every day. He reads but doesn't post. :) After the Q/A session was over, the officials did answer other peoples questions one on one. I was standing there when a guy asked if they'd bring back the station music for MF. He said they're working on that right now.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid coaster enthusiasts can be sometimes.

I remembered a couple of other questions so here goes:
13. What about the proposed Boardwalk Project A. We're always looking into things of this nature.
14. Is Cedar Point running out of room and if so, would you utilize the parking lot? A. We're not running out of room yet. We are getting much more creative with the placement of coaster i.e. WT's placement along the beach, and the biggest part of Magnum runs along the beach and the only part actually in the park is the station.
15. Will WT's placement affect the 4th of July fireworks since that's where they were shot off from? A. We've found another area to shoot them from.
16. A question was asked about resort guests getting in 30 minutes early and the fact that it costs so much more to stay on site and the fact that "it really wasn't worth the extra 100 dollars". A. CP has allot of attractive packages for it's onsite facilities.
17. Have you ever thought about making CP a non-smoking place throughout the entire park. A. We have made specific areas of the park non-smoking and are looking at every area to determine if it would be feasible to make it a non-smoking area as well all the time.
18. What happened to Vertigo. PERSONALLY I would have loved to answer this question myself with the reply, "it fell down". LOL But they said that the manufacturer is doing/did in depth studies as to why the structure failed and the results have yet to be released to CP.
19. One thing CP really lacks in it's roundup of rides is a major dark ride. Do you have plans to build one? A. We are very interested in a dark ride as it would be a ride that the entire family could ride, not just the adults. Something the entire family would enjoy.
Sorry I keep posting.. Just keep remembering questions all the time. :) I will agree that there for awhile, it seemed like everybody that stood up vocalized their wishlist. I was glad to see someone turn the topics back to real questions.

My question was about the proposed parking tax, I asked if there would also be an increase in next years parking price. A: They said that they are opposed to the new tax and very disappointed with the city of Sandusky for raising the issue in the first place considering 1/4 of Sandusky's operating budget is from tax revenues generated through Cedar Point. They did not speculate whether or not there will be a parking price hike next year as they are still fighting with the city over this.
I agree with Jeff on how stupid some "coaster enthusiasts" can be. I would say about 75% of the questions should have not been asked simply because they were either questions that a "coaster enthusiast" should already know or questions that a enthusiast should know will not get an answer for such as "What will you be building next??".

Basically it's in review, they looked at various other prices like arenas & stadiums when setting the price, and they're very much keeping a close eye on this.
As for Kinzel's edu-background, he wasn't there and the two that answered were Monty & the other dude desides Keller.
