Because he was announced (and people here have talked about him) as perfect and the solution for everything that ails the company?
As to the OP question, per the article below sounds like they mentioned changes were being made to Coastermania but no details were provided. Would seem odd in that context to be canceling the event but we will have to see.
I never said anyone here said it, only myself in the statement above.
Were still in the slow news time of the year and there has been no new information regarding Coastermania since Winter Chill Out. The only "major" announcement from Six Flags has been Kelce's appointment as face of Six Flags. Due to that I am speculating that we'll be hearing from him on when these events will take place this year.
"Face of Six Flags" sort of strikes me as doing commercials and such. I would think the announcement and details would be locally to each park and done by that parks'/region PR person such as OnPointTony or whoever assists in CP's capacity nowadays.
Good for Kelce & his agent for snagging this while he is sort of relevant from sports & Taylor. It won't endure too long unless you are Shaq, Barkley, Peyton, or Bob Euker.
Don't they usually sell tickets in late February? And the date (first Friday in June) has historically been set very early on, basically concurrently with the seasonal calendar being published. So I do agree that it's interesting to not see it on the list of events yet.

This thread talked about them going on sale in April (for last year's event):
Agreed, looking back at prior threads it does seem like they typically have gone on sale around end of April or early May sometimes. I don't know where I got February in my mind. I am still intrigued that it's not on the calendar yet, but there's still months between now and first week in June.
