I was wondering if you worked at geauga lake if you would get into CoasterEXT for free, or if you had to pay to get in, since you get into geauga lake for free if you work there
As far as I know the only people who will get in free are those who have a Coaster Club Membership and a Cedar Fair Season Pass. Cedar Point Season Passes have to have the 2 Park Add-On.

Your ID should get you in for free, but you'd still have to be a member of a coaster club.

You know, speaking of Coaster EXT, does anyone have more information on it? There was a post on here with some early information reguarding an early registration that would allow you to avoid the fee for on site registration the day of the event. Does anyone know anything more about this?

its on the ace website. I didin't get my pass until opening day, so i cant get in for free, because the due date was 5/13
Thats crap that you have to register for this event. Especially if like thevillain said, you didn't get your pass until opening day, then you're automatically disqualified from free entry because you have to have your season pass number on the pre-reg form. If I hadn't known about that, I would have just assumed that the process would be the same as Coastermania, since well, its the same parent company and the parks are only a couple hours apart, not to mention the event is the next day. Ah, well, doesn't help to complain, but it still feels good.

Hmm, that's kind of a downer. Oh well, I guess it's still only $10.

As already stated here, if you pre-registered and you have a CP/GL season pass and a coaster club membership, then it's free.
If you have all that and didn't pre-register, then it is $9.95 day of the event.
Despite all the comments, you have to understand the pre-registration was due to the lack of crowds last year. GL was expecting a turn out simular to CM and were prepared for such (food for 1k, plenty of t-shirts, not to mention the ERT times) to be very disappointed that only 100+ people showed.
(Although I must admit it was the best coaster event I had ever been to!! I had a blast!! :))
The $9.95 charge I am sure is their way of trying to off set any lack of crowds once more. I imagine after putting so much $$ into WWL this season that GL has to watch every penny. It only makes good business sense to charge a small admission fee.
For $9.95 you get free food (plenty of it and yummy stuff) awesome ERT (can you say reride?) not to mention WWL which, if you haven't been there yet is one of the nicest water parks I have ever seen!! Do not miss Liquid Lightning, that thing is so much fun!
Even CP can't boost you can enjoy Soak City at CM (unless you have a combo pass)
I have also heard they are doing a photo shoot at WWL that day so you could be asked to be in it!
GL ordered CoasterEXT t-shirt again this year which I am really siked about! I wish CP would learn from that and offer CM t-shirts as well. I never did understand why they only did CoasterMania '96 stuff and never again. You can't tell me they wouldn't sell!!
I personally don't think $9.95 is that much to ask, I can't think of any other amusement park which charges that amount and gives you all that GL gives us during CoasterExt. I believe if I recall correctly it was even more last year?
Maybe if the crowd is better this year then eventually it will be a free event as it's sister parks offer, but for now GL is still the baby of the family and unless it can justify free entry for all it isn't going to happen.
I, for one can't wait for CExt '06, especially since we have hotel reservations this year! Yea!!
My ONLY gripe is I think GL should have this event some other time during the season. I think that to have it the day after CM is just a bit much for some. If you're like my CP buds and I, CM is an exhausting event, my hubby and are always pretty wiped out after CM.
This all was JMHO but, didn't it sound like I work there??!! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
