Contrary to Rob's thoughts, Coaster Works finally came out a couple days ago, it retails for $29.99 -- I bought it, and there are a few things to say about it:
- The design process is MUCH different from RCT, you are given a piece of track and you adjust the vertical angle, horizontal angle, and bankment (so you can make overbanked turns). The special components it gives you are only vertical loops and a corkscrew (not as good as RCT) but if you are good enough, you can actually make your own special components (I have made Mantis' diving loop, Raptor's cobra roll, etc.)
- It is very basic in terms of coaster colors and types (they pick the color for each level, and all of the coasters are sit-down loopers).
- It doesn't take much to beat the game (you only have to make 5 different coasters that meet certain requirements, one for each level).
- In terms of graphics, the track is very choppy (not well rounded), and the backgrounds are pretty basic.
It is definitely not a must-have, but for 30 bucks it is not too bad, and I have had a tough time trying to recreate some CP coasters.
Still waiting for No Limits though...
