I was there 5-19 - 5-21 and they were assigning seats strictly on Steel Vengeance and Maverick. Valravn sometimes yes, sometimes you could ask for front row, and Magnum was a free for all. Millennium was a walk on every time we rode so there was not any assigning.
Now a 29 time Steel Vengeance survivor! Two time Winter Chill Out dude.
Mr Potato - the first year I worked the ride (2001), they had three on unload and two on load, but the "unload 1" was tethered to the front car by the corded mic. I think they switched it to three on load in 2002 when they added the platform gates and the dispatch enable all the way in the back corner. I tend to agree with you that there needs to be three on unload. With the interval of that ride, you really need at least four people on the train, not messing around with lost and found, special access, parent swaps, etc. The third person on load is kind of nice, but not really necessary.
Says the dude who opened the ride with three trains with 5 people total. Controls, Unload, Load 1, Load 2, and a person at the bottom of the stairs doing entrance, crowd, and "Freeway." "Sorry guys, we'll figure out how to rotate when someone else shows up! And don't set up because the poor sap on unload is going to have to run really fast to release the safeties and run back really fast to check the train." I don't think that would fly anymore. :)

Ah yes, I had forgotten about times of not being able to rotate on our own. It’s wasn’t at Magnum but I remember days of only being able to rotate when someone come back from break. And of course occasionally someone would forget to start a rotation when they got back from break and prematurely send the next break. Then everyone would be upset because now you had to wait another 45 minutes for a rotation. :)

I understand that some stations you don’t want it to be a free-for-all. But why are Steel Vengeance & Maverick being so strict about it?

Sorta mad at the moment post but not anused with the person at Steel Vengeance who denied my request for front (and I make an effort to ask nicely). Denied because front queue was pretty full at the moment. But then proceeds to let 2 groups of people go in front queue the next moment she let people in line.

You should, very nicely, contact the park and inform them of your non best day ever. just so they're aware in case it's something that is happening a lot. But I'm sure if the queue was full its for the greater good to keep the lines moving.

I'm done with this site. I should have expected a comment like that. Forbid I criticize something about the park here and I'm so sick of the make whole posts. It was not for any greater good, the person just was being ridiculous in SV.

That was a pretty docile post to get that angry about. GL2CP, while having a little fun, gave some decent advice.
For the record, I have seen a fair amount of complaints about this on other sites, although I haven't experienced it myself.

I didn't see anything at all in that post to get upset about. It didn't come across to me as someone giving an attitude. Saying non-best day ever doesn't sound like an attack on you at all. I would suggest letting the park know so they can get issues worked out. If nobody says anything then they assume everything is going well. And something as little as this could easily be addressed.

I was at park yesterday. Couple of crazy things to see. They stopped me at the front of the FP line after they filled the first train and started taking people from the regular lane. First group was 3 people. He put them in 1-a 1-b 2a. Then he got a group of four. He put them 2-b 3-a 3-b 4-a so he broke up the group. I ended up in 4-b.
Then Steel Vengeance opened. When I got to the part where I could see into the station a little, I see there is one person in row 5 and in row 7. Right in front of the person assigning seats. If they are going to assign seats (and I don't have a big problem with it), at least be efficient.
Glad most would agree my post actually was supposed to be sincere and not an attack. You gotta speak up to those who make the decisions.

There could be very logical reasoning for them filling the train the way they were, especially given that SV hasn’t operated as designed.. They could be testing balancing loads and train travel, how single riders affect performance when in different rows, how best to seat a ‘cold’ train, etc.... (if they were testing for this searching for a possible single rider could take too long for timing)
The station host was likely taking directions from controls and seating accordingly.
I don’t understand why people feel there’s some ulterior motive to make you’re ride experience an annoyance, to deny you personally of a specific seat or to be inefficient and hinder capacity.

I’ve been here the last two days and haven’t had any issues with seating requests being accommodated happily by ride ops.
"There could be very logical reasoning for them filling the train the way they were..."
Or, it could just be some random event.
Like that hasn't ever happened.

Just a quick question. Why didn't Cedar Point put the third train of Rougarou on the track? For some reason it's sitting under the transfer track? They really could have used it yesterday.
Mechanical, it's been down all (or at least most) season from what I've seen.
Still haven't been able to uncross these circuits...

Cedar Fair left the 3rd train completely off the track on several major rides this year, much more popular than Rougarou as well. Mystic, Banshee and Diamondback at KI, to name 3.
