Coaster Mania '03 - What it takes to be a club

Hey there everyone!

I just read that CM '03 is on June 6th. Now that is exactly the day i planned to go to CP anyway from Switzerland.

Now I'm wondering about what it takes to be a club. I'm a member of a small german Coasterclub, the CCF. It's not a club where I pay a membership, but it hast official events. Can anyone tell me what it takes?

you can get a coaster buzz membership, go to www.coasterbuzz.com and I think the fee is $20

If you're not sure, you could call or email the park. I'm sure they would be happy to check into it for you.

Don't want to pay the extra $20????????????!!!!!!!!!

Coasterbuzz happens to be one of the best forums I have been a member of. The moderators do a great job of keeping the crap out. The ads are removed when you have a membership. That alone is worth the money. Then you ad the perks like Coasterbuz Con and some of the other exclusives including Coastermania, it is an AMAZING deal. If you were at Coastermania in the past you will understand how much the park supports US by providing a buffet of delicious food, gift bags, and the great ERT.

Pay the $20, don't try to get around it. The $20 doesn't even go to CP. It pays for the upkeep of the site basically and is much cheaper than ANY other club.

Believe me, paying the $20 for the Coasterbuzz club is well worth it! Here's why:

Park admission is normally $44. Coastermania costs $32. So right there you save $12. Your net cost for the membership is now only $8.

With Coastermania, you get a free lunch. Figure in the park you would get a burger, fries, and a drink. OK, so that would be $7. Your net cost is now $1.

Then factor in the multiple hours of ERT, and you can see, the membership would be completely worth it!

I have a question, if you go to coasterbuzz and look at their acrobat reader thing about coastermania, it says that one ticket can be bought for a non club member. Does that mean that if i went by myself i could just not be in a club and still get in? or is it if your in a club you can bring somebody else that isnt. Thanks in advance for clearing that up.

nevermind.... sometimes i question why i can get through school....*wacks forehead*

I'd probably join CB if I would live in the US, but I don't. I'm already in a Club, a European one. Problem is, we don't have membership cards or anything like that.

I'll probably call CP

IMO CoasterMania should be for coaster club members AND people from overseas. Flying such a distance just for CM should be enought of a reason.

Have you considered joining the European Coaster Club? I'm sure that would suffice for CoasterMania.

Dragonkhan, CP says that the coaster club has to be a recognized club, meaning something that is established as a legitimate club. Not to say that your club isn't, but if no one knows about it, and you don't have memebership cards, I doubt CP will let you participate. If you don't want to join a U.S. club, why not join the European Coaster Club? It's based in the UK, but has events all over Europe.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

Dragonkahn, I would happily have you along to CM as my guest, but I have already invited someone else...I wonder if there are any other Po!nters out there who might be prepared to take our European friend along as their guest?

C'mon, folks....
