Coaster Elements

I'm not sure if this would be considered an "unnacceptable topic" but I'll at least get it going since I think it would be fun to discuss. So, what are everyone's most enjoyable/favorite Cedar Point roller coaster elements? Here are some of mine in no particluar order:

-Millennium Force's 1st drop

-Maverick's 1st drop

-Magnum's ejector hills between the pretzel turn and the brake run

-Blue Streak's bunny hills, back row

-Raptor's zero g roll

-Dragster's launch and prelaunch

Magnum's third hill. That's all you need.

Let's Get Weird.

I second the motion, on Magnum's 3rd hill. (AKA old sparky)

By chance anyone have any photos or video of old sparky in action,

But seeing it live was like wow I rode that! Oh well lets do again.

Blue Streak - Airtime Hills back to the station

Cedar Creek Mine Ride - Helix at the end

Corkscrew - Corkscrew over the midway

Disaster Transport - Turning is fun especially on this bobsled track in the dark.

Gemini - First drop and Airtime hills.

Iron Dragon - Swinging over the pond, and 1st drop

Magnum XL - 200 - Airtime hills + Pretzel Turns

Mantis - 1st drop + Loop

Maverick - First drop + Launch Tunnel

Mean Streak - Banked Turns

Millennium Force - All of the drops and the large overbank turn at the beginning.

Raptor - Cobra Roll + 1st Drop

Top Thrill Dragster - Spiraling down the hill.

Wicked Twister - Going Backwards.

I didn't do Woodstock Express or Jr. Gemini because even though I had ridden them already, I dont have a favorite element.

Favorite coaster: Millennium Force
Favorite flat: maXair

So now that there is supposed to be a wingrider for next year, and I've seen the rough arial layout picture from the sandusky register, what elements does everyone think there will be by seeing the picture or what what you'd want in this wing coaster? I think the station will be along the beach, the lift will be going diagonally across the parking lot and then there will be a straight first drop followed by a loop or twist that would put the ride in the direction of the main entrance. Then probably there will be some other inversion over the main entrance and an immelman near Blue Streak's turn around. Then it will have some other inversion or hill coming back over the main entrance and a couple more twists before going back over the parking lot. Then there will be a helix right next to the lift hill followed by a left hand turn, possibly another cool element, and then the brake run. It seems like a pretty basic layout, nothing special, and I'd prefer an inverted first drop like X-Flight as well as some unique inversions and turns.

Edit: I'd also like to see a zero-g roll and some airtime hills, but from the looks of the other wing riders, I doubt that B&M would put a plain hill on coaster capable of inversions. That seems to be how they usually work. If one of their coaster is capable of going upside down, it pretty much ONLY goes upside down which I don't really think they should do. I think it'd be fun to have some great airtime in a wing coaster.

One of my favorite elements on any coaster is the high horsehoe shaped batwing turn on X-flight/Firehawk after the first drop. I would love something like that on the new coaster here. I am still hoping for a big record breaking flyer over the wingrider but we shall see from the final official announcement right? I am also thinking that there are going to be new plans added so that the leaked announcement will be slightly off.

Also I hope it has some of the unique key hole/near miss features like some of the other wingriders, expecially X-Flight, has. I've never been on one before, but I think those are what make the ride more fun. I'll be really disappointed if there aren't anything like that, where there are twists and rolls that narrowly miss objects and even go through things.

My favorites include the drop and bunny hop on Maverick.

Also would add the launch on Top Thrill Dragster and the racing element from Gemini.

The tunnels on Magnum (especially at night) would be on my list.

I love the keyhole idea...Imagine a keyhole- only a little longer---a keyhole tunnel---and that keyhole tunnel had a fog/mist element as the coaster blasted through...

^That would be sweet!

Can't believe nobody mentioned Maverick's heartline roll!

Millennium's lift hill/ drop, and Top Thrill's launch get me every time. Also want to throw in Gemini's head chopper and Maverick's stengel dives, especially the second one.

Nobody ever experienced the heartline roll?

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

The heartline roll was removed before the ride opened to the public, and in fact delayed the opening by weeks in 2007.

Legend says, late at night...when the last rides have gone to sleep...Werner can be seen...wading betwixt the water cannons of Maverick...quietly placing a hand on the track of ol' 500 where the heartline roll once stood...

A tear rolling down his eye...

Promoter of fog.

Kevin that is hilarious. :D

Nice.

Now you just ruined the whole fantasy for me.

Maverick - First hill, cammel back, launch tunnel, and the crazy twist near the end of the ride.

Millenium - Can we just call the whole ride an element? :)

Dragster - The launch.

Magnum - First drop and the third hill before the pretzel turn.
