I am a mechanical engineering student and I am doing a presentation on the driving systems of coasters. I really cant seem to find many pictures on the web so if you could help I would really appreciate it.
Pictures that would be helpful:
-launch system on ttd
-close up of catch car on MF
-any other parts such as chain dogs, antirollbacks
-any other type of launches or lifts on other coasters in the world
Thanks for your help
Discovery channel had a show on not too long ago called extreme terror rides. Showed how most coasters work. See if you can find that and you will have your pics.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
Or just use Google Images. I found most of what you are looking for with that.
Here's some pics of the same systems Dragster and Millennium uses as well as some others.

That's the best I could find for the different coaster propulsions.

When is the project due? I will be starting at Camden Park (a very small park, but with two coasters) on May 2nd (still don't know when orientation is) and will be able to get closeup pics of the drive mecs for both a semi-large wooden coaster and a small NAD kiddie.

Let me know if interested :)
*Edit: Some pictures I took of an Arrow Looper before it was torn down at the same park when I worked there in 2004 http://homefires.us/coaster/
