Coaster Competition

I read an article today that Six Flags Great America is adding two new roller coasters for 2001. They are both going to be electro-magnetic launching. Does anyone think Cedar point will get a roller coaster like those two within a few years?

Six Flags is only getting one new coaster for 2001 and its a Flying Dutchman. I really cant say what Cedar Point will do in the next few years but it will probebly be a record breaker.

He's talking about Great America -- no WoA. Only one of them (v2) will be launched. I can't really see the Point putting in a launched coaster. You never know, though!

Something big (IE: Coaster, or power tower!) usually happens every other year. This happens to fall for next year since MF being in 2000. I can't say what it will be but some think its a thrust air, others a cci woodie. Only time will tell! This site will probably have info, if track showed up during this season.

I don't really know why CP doesn't put in a launched coaster. I know the capacity isn't as high, but wouldn't the shorter ride time tend to balance that out a bit? It would fit beautifully in so many areas, and it's definately a coaster type the CP doesn't have - launched and backwards both.
