Co-branded attractions

I’ve been traveling to cedar point for over 40 years and until last weekend never realized Sandusky is home to a NASA facility. With Ohio’s aerospace legacy and with NASA having a presence in town, how is it that cedar point hasn’t created partnerships with NASA, the military, or other aerospace leaders? Seems like a real marketing opportunity for the state, region, and park.

Tall and fast not so much upside down...

Well, they did theme Magnum trains to look like space shuttles, Disaster Transport went through space en route to Alaska, and the park guide in 2003 showed Top Thrill Dragster launching vertical like a rocket into space... Seems they don’t need to pay NASA to do space stuff.

I remember that back in the day they did do a physics display centered around Demon Drop that was in conjunction with NASA.

There were people from NASA Glenn and Plum Brook that had a similar display in front of Power Tower yesterday.

I was thinking more that Cedar Point could take a page from Epcot's early days and approach NASA about sponsoring an attraction via naming rights. As mentioned above, this should have happened in 1989 with the "space-themed" Magnum XL200. But, that might be a nice partnership/opportunity to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the construction of the world's first hypercoaster?

^ Floorless lapbar trains! With faceoff seating!! And on ride music!!1

Seriously why not. Shove 'em on Mamba, Steel Force & Wild Thing whilst we're at it. Put the old train's front car in the museum and put an 80s tube TV in the front plexiglas windshield thing with the history of the ride.

Just gotta string six together. Can't be too hard without inversions.

If we build it, they will come.

At the NASA complex in Cleveland there is a display by the anti-gravity pit that shows the depth of the pit in relation to the heights of Cedar Point rides.
