CNN.com: Theme Park Article

Take a look at the picture and caption about Xcelerator in this article on Cnn.com. I think the graphics department might have accidentally mirrored the image. Last time I checked, Xcelerator doesn't invert it's riders; especially along a straight track like the picture shows! LOL.

When did KBF get a Screamin' Squirrel (or whatever S&S calls that bizzare little ride)?? :)

Actually, it 90deg off. That's the downside of the top hat.

No, XCelerator does not go upside down, Its quite obvious the picture is just upside down, although how could they get it so wrong in the article, It clearly says the Coaster spins its riders upside down, lol

Thats awful and I bet Knotts are fuming at the article for it being sooo wrong

What does this have to do with Dragster?

Westside7th,

They are similar types of rides. I thought the Dragster fans would get a chuckle out of the picture. I mean come on...imagine how uncomfortable that ride would be if you really were moving along the track as depicted? :)

Their map of the 30 "best" amusement parks ranks CP at a tie for #15. However, it says the ranking is based off attendence for 2002. 13 of the 14 parks ahead of CP are year-round, so of course they'll have better attendence. CP still beat some of the year-round parks.

CP is ahead of Magic Mountain in attendance. What does that tell you about which park is better? Or at least more popular.

I thought CNN stood for "Clinton News Network". Whoops sorry about that.

So according to that SF:WoA is the 6th busiest SF's park??

No wonder their stock sucks.

It does. LOL

It's no surprise that Fox News Channel beats CNN in ratings... and it reaches LESS households than CNN.

That page is absolutely fake. I've seen similar crapola on that fake CNN page, like Russia teaming up with B&M to build a coaster in outer space, and some Florida park receiving a 450 foot coaster on July 4. By the way, why would they put that in the travel section?
Uh, it isn't fake. Type in cnn.com into your browser yourself. Click on the travel tab. It's the lead story. Someone just didn't know which way was up with the picture.

Oh my God that is so da** fake!!!! I've been on Xcelerator and it doesn't turn you upside down. That's the biggest lie CNN has made in history! I swear it doesn't turn you upside down.

If any of you want proof, call 1-714-220-5200.

There's nothing fake about it. Settle down. Whoever posted the photo just didn't know how to orient the image.

Jeff, one thing that's fake about the site is that the site says xcelerator turns riders up-side down. That's what's fake about it.

Haha, CNN is probably the least trusted network in the industry, I haven't and will not every believe a word that they say. Try Fox or something other than CNN!

And just because a website says that it turns riders upside down, doesn't mean its fake...just that they had grammatical issues, or someone inexperienced added it to the website... I dont think that http://cnn.com is a fake site.

As far as Xcelerator goes, never rode it, but according to the ss I have seen, it doesn't turn you upside down.

Knott's Berry Farm's ’50s-themed roller coaster, Xcelerator, takes riders upside down in Buena Park, California.

I took that from the site... someone must have inverted the image and then the reporter or person whom updated the website just went along with it.

Btw, what does this have to do with Top Thrill Dragster? Is Xcelerator down or something?
