I've been at CP the day before, week before, but never actually on the last day of the season. I'm planning on it this November 2.
I've heard there are massive discounts and such on various things. I'm curious how deep and what kinds of stuff folks here have seen in the past? Are we talking about just normal in-stock items, or am I going to have a chance to walk out with a big bag of popping corn? (which BTW I'd love to know what brand or type they use.)
Examples?

There will possibly be massive discounts on merchandise that didn't sell and they don't want to carry over to the next year. If you like plush, or medium t-shirts, this sale is for you.
Last day stuff here...

There is also some marked down stuff at Snoopy Boutique.
Pretty deep discounts, the kids and I are looking forward to it! (Their mother.....not so much.)

What are closing day crowds normally like? I'm planning to go that day, weather permitting.

Something else you might want to take into consideration, and this is straight from a CP email ...
PLEASE NOTE: HalloWeekends attractions will NOT be open, including haunted houses, family activities and fright zones.
Not sure why they feel the need to close everything Halloween related on the final day, especially when they're promoting "guest appreciation". You'd think the haunted stuff would be a part of the festivities seeing as how that's the entire reason they're open this late in the year to begin with.
The special deals are cool, but if you're trying to drum up business through this type of marketing strategy, closing your main attractions seems to be counter productive.
I was super before Super Stew was cool !
My guess? Staffing. November 2nd is awfully late to be doing closing day. Just be glad they are open!
Hey, I'm ecstatic they're open, just puzzled why they're not doing the haunts. I don't buy the staffing bit. They've managed to make a go of it on all the other Sundays (at least in some facet) and now because it's supposedly "awfully late" in the year, they can't get anyone to come to work ?? I fail to see how a Nov. 2nd closing has anything to do with it at all ... It's only a couple days past normal closing, if that.
I was super before Super Stew was cool !
What I'm wondering, will the shows still be going? I'd love to catch Midnight Syndicate again

They'll probably be starting the take down of all the Halloweekend stuff by Sunday morning. Last year on the Pagoda cam I noticed that they ripped the flowers out of the main midway beds the day after the park closed. I wouldn't be surprised if by the time the park opens Sunday half the decorations are down and in storage.
Halloween is technically over. Also the park is only open until 8, its a Sunday and most halloweekend haunts arent open on Sundays. It makes sense that they aren't having them.
I'll enjoy the rides for the day and say goodbye to the season.
I Miss the Pirate ride.
Halloween is "technically" over on Saturday, November 1st as well, but the haunts will still be open in full force, thus making your point, moot ... As far as the *because it's a Sunday, they close at 8, and most haunts aren't open* excuse is concerned - that's not only irrelevant, but also WRONG !
With the exception of Columbus weekend, they always close at 8pm on Sundays - that's nothing new. And the only Halloween attractions that are closed are the outdoor haunts - that's nothing new either; Doing the same thing on the final Sunday shouldn't be any different or be that big of a deal at all ... If anything, they could take advantage of daylight savings time ending with it getting dark an hour earlier.
So NO, it makes zero sense they're not having them !
I was super before Super Stew was cool !
I agree with Villian, Sunday is two days after Halloween, which is way past stale. Even Saturday will have a weird vibe to it. There's nothing wrong with closing out the season on a "normal" vibe. I think it's a good move.
Way past stale ?? Maybe for people that have been there a dozen times ... Saturday and Sunday might be the only chance for some of us to get out there and experience it; It's still all part of Halloween weekend ... By that logic, we shouldn't turn Christmas lights on the day after either.
I was super before Super Stew was cool !
I know having a personal opinion on something is weird and all that, but yeah, I'm not really feeling all spooky two days after Halloween, and I love me my Halloween.
Also, your hyperbole doesn't really equate. People may turn their lights on after xmas, but you don't see them out caroling.
I've visited for 2 HalloWeekends, and(personally)gotten my fill. Sure, the normal haunts, scare zone & shows would be nice. But they want us there to help reduce inventory & spend some extra cash, not to scare us. I'm ok with that. I'm going to get a few 'last' rides in, and be happy for the opportunity to do so(weather permitting).
Keep passing the fun along!
