The family Took me to CP for fathers day. It was great, rode Valravin ( awesome) just in general had a great time! after taking the Grandkids on some of the Kiddie rides, I started thinking Chili Cheese Fries! Yes, I missed getting them last year.... So I find myself in line buying a round of CCF for myself, my oldest daughter, and plain with vinegar for the wife. great service, a little slow but hey I waited "2 years" for them. they were still good, but I noticed they now have a Hormel type chili on them (no beans). My daughter (CCF Freak) asked me hey dad? something's not right about these?? I said well the chili I remember was mostly fine ground meat - almost sloppy-Joe-ish with a grease that stained the fries & Tray a reddish color. Does anyone know when they changed the chili? like I said the were still good, but just not the same.
I suppose it's like I always tell my girls the only constant thing in life is change.
Oh yea, the wife also thought the frozen custard was not the same, but if figured I better not start a new topic on that.......
I'm not sure the last time you had them, but I don't feel like they are different. I've been getting them pretty consistently since 2003.
Maybe different stands sell slightly different types?

I don't really remember there being any beans in the chili for the last 5 years or so at least.

They never had beans in the chili for as long as I can remember. I didn't notice any change in the chili or the custard.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Sorry guys, I was not clear - The chili reminded me of the Hormel brand with no beans. I ordered the fries at the front station next to the new Coca-Cola freestyle (former hat shop) where they have the new 3D fries sign. I hope CoasterKyle is right in different stations have a different chili. The chili I had did not have the reddish hue grease staining the fries or the cardboard? it was a dark brown almost creamy - with chunks of meat not the fine grind. Oh well either way they were good, and I had a great day! thanks for your input!
About the custard - she usually gets the swirl - and this was just chocolate so that may have been the difference right there.
We were there couple weeks ago. Not sure about the chili, but the custard seemed like it always is...tasty! I get vanilla though at the stand near Raptor so not sure on the chocolate.
Sad news... enjoying chili and cheese fries whilst sitting on the Midway has long been an essential "to do" at Cedar Point.
