Cheapest way for a one day visit.

I am planning a visit for one day around June 23 or 24. I already have the time off work but money or course is a concern. I know I can get discount tickets at drug mart. What is parking this season? I usually just eat once in the park and maybe a order of fries and eat dinner after the park closes. I am also looking for a cheap hotel. I don't care about any ameneties I just want to crash and not have to drive home tired. I am not sure I will even need a hotel just depends on how tired I feel. Last time I stayed at a mom and pop place on Cleveland Road it was about 50 a night. It was nothing specual but it was close.

I probably wont spend much inside the park other than lunch. I usually get a disposable camera at CVS and that works out fine for me.

If you really want to save some money(and dissapointment), don't buy any food in the park. Pack yourself a lunch in the car.

Parking is $10

The further you get from the park, the cheaper the rooms are. You may want to drive about 45 min away and look for a room if you are worried about cost.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Agreed. We brought our own food to the park yesterday and its A LOT cheaper and the food is WAY better. Trust me.

So stoked for 2010 :]

If i were to only once this is what i would do.
A) Get you tickets through Meijer, Drug Mart, or AAA
B) Pack a Lunch, water, and some snacks and maybe dinner.
C) If your going alone then their is nothing i can do to save you on gas, but if your taking friends then split the coast of gas between you and your friends.
D) As stated above the further away from the park you go the cheaper the room.

One of the best ways to save money at the park is to avoid buying beverages. You can ask for a cup of ice water, and you will get it for free. We did this the past 2 days, and it saved us a ton of money.

^You could also consider purchasing the $10 souvenir cup. It's $.99 for refills, but not if it's water.

I only drink water. So this was the cheapest way to go. Within the 2 days, we probably drank 10 cups of free water each. If we went the souvenir cup route, we would have been paying about $20 each. So I think I would rather just go with the free water.:)
