As someone who lives 500 miles away, new ride announcements do factor into my decision to vacation at CP. I usually make the trip every 3 or 4 years. I was there last year, but had I known then that Gatekeeper was a few years away, I might have put off my trip until 2013 (at that time Windseeker was the only ride I hadn't been on and it was still inoperable on my visit).
I know I am a very small portion of CP's attendance, but the point DJ was making earlier does apply to me.

Ya. Put some DT stuff in the line and some WildCat stuff in the line. Maybe some Jumbo Jet too if they have it. Pay tribute to the rides that were once there.

Putting portions of old rides on display isn't a bad idea at all. I can imagine the conversations I would have been able to have with my Grandfather if he and I were walking down the midway at Idora Park and he was pointing out rides he enjoyed as a kid...telling the corresponding stories.
I still say they are doing a pretty lousy job of making the park more family friendly but the idea of putting on display older coaster cars, pieces of track, etc has some merit. I certainly never considered it before but the idea is neat.

After all, the queue isn't always the most exciting place in the park. Having a display piece that wouldn't fit inside Town Hall anyway would be a nice distraction.
I actually just posted this in the timeline thread...
They didn't say specifically. But, from what they did say, I got the impression was that there would be a controlled detonation that would cause the ride to fall away from the park toward the beach/parking lot once daily operations are over. It will then be chopped up into pieces small enough to haul away for scrap.

^Really? Everybody ripped apart a guy in another thread who said they would let it fall towards the beach, no one believed him.

It'd be nice if the Cedar Point museum actually had a car in it...I mean...how much of the Cedar Point museum actually pays homage to rides of the past at CP?
Well it has all the Golden Tickets.

Another idea would be to construct a large mural with pictures of Cyclone, Jumbo Jet, Wildcat, and Avalanche/DT with captions for guests to read while waitng in the queue.
I really like that idea. Maybe even have separate displays for each coaster as you navigate the queue line. That area of the park sure has had a variety of coasters over the years.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Yeah that was me that they tore apart nobody believed. I must say it does feel amazing to
Be right. (:
And Clevelander thought 100% that he was right poor guy
So you posted here and started a new thread, and no one has any idea what you're talking about.
