There is good and bad news for those of you who travel on U.S. 250 to get to Cedar Point. The bad news is that it is in the beginning phases of a massive construction project which could lead to delays, etc. during the year. It will be closed for a while during the next few months while a new railroad bridge is constucted near the Ohio Turnpike. The detour will be from February 19 to March 16. It is supposed to be open in time for the summer tourists but I think that the construction will continue through the summer. The bridgework has already begun. The good news is that when the project is done, U.S. 250 will be a four lane road all the way from Milan into Sandusky. A left turn lane between the four lanes will be in place from State Route 13 all the way into Sandusky. No longer will you have to toil along behind someone going 45 MPH without being able to pass them because of all the oncoming traffic. The project is supposed to be completed in October, 2002.
