Wow...that really sucks about adding GK to Fast Lane Plus. I thought regular fast lane was a 'good' deal as I could care less about riding Maverick (too rough). Gatekeeper was a bonus. I will have to rethink regular Fast Lane in the future.
Oh, and old timers secret. July 5 is pretty much always quiet. This was the day our Director scheduled our band trip (we played at CP every year, quite fun) and it was generally a very quiet day with few crowds.

I want to know where a high school kid gets enough money to buy Fast Lane three days in a row, plus two nights in a hotel. What kind of job do you have? When I was in high school I was lucky to afford a one day ticket and I didn't have to stay in a hotel.
It's not them, but look at the parents who spend the money for the trip. It was mentioned on here beforehand: I wonder how many kids / teens who love fast lane are spending their OWN money on it. Most likely than not those who are 11 - 16 who have fast lane, it's because mommy and daddy are paying the bill. (Note: I realize that there are some who actually use their own money to buy fast lane, but a lot in this range have it because of the parents.)
I usually always spend my own money on Fastlane, because my parents pay for the Hotel room, and I have a job. Sometimes they will pay a portion of it, but usually it's 100% my money.

To Smiley's point though, it's not really your money. In other words, if you had to pay your own way on the trip - including gas, food, lodging, park tickets, etc. - you likely wouldn't have anything left over for FL.
That said, it's good that you're using your own money to pay for an extra like FL, since it's not an essential part of the trip.

I totally get what your saying. I think I just take things for granted sometimes. I agree that if I had to pay for the hotel, and gas, I would for sure not be buying FL. Although I did buy my platinum pass with my own money, my parents offered to pay for some of my all season dining plan since they would be buying the food anyways.

Fast Lane in my opinion is not worth it unless you are just coming in for the day and on the weekend/ busy day.
If you own a regular pass or a season pass you come often enough that its not really worth it.
I was there on a Monday in July and less than 10 minutes wait for all rides and hardly any lines so I would have been pissed if I paid that amount of money for Fast Lane.
^ Agree. I visit the park several times a year, so there isn't much value in it for me. I can see the value if you only go once a year or once in a lifetime, but for anyone who goes many times a year, they're not really worth it. If a particular ride is a long wait one day, I'll just ride it next time.

Back to the original topic, that is strange that Gatekeeper is back to Fast Lane Plus. With its excellent capacity and throughput, it's an ideal choice for regular Fast Lane. I've hardly ever had to wait longer than the Left/Right split for the ride.
I'm sure plenty would be happy to see Maverick, TTD, and Millennium as the trio for Plus. The issues with Maverick's line are gone now that it's off regular Fast Lane. Millennium seems to be the last ride in the park where FL is causing some groans.
