Challenge Park Rumor

I heard rumor of Challenge Park becomiing a part of paid admission to Cedar Point. This would include the go-karts, putt-putt, and Extreme trampoline. But Rip-cord would still cost an arm and a leg. Can anyone verify this information?

Interesting scenario, but I figure, especially with the decreased admission price, this probably won't happen. Additionally, Cedar Fair charges for such attractions at all of the parks. I don't really see it happening... *** Edited 3/2/2006 9:53:11 PM UTC by DBCP***

It won't happen due to the very low capacity rides/attractions i Challenge Park compared to the high capacity park next door.

We're lucky Skyhawk is being placed inside CP. Screamin' Swings at other parks are smaller versions that are up-charge attractions. Why would you pay to ride a big swing? I wouldn't pay over a few dollars to ride half of the rides at CP, but since they are technically free with admission, I ride them all.

I don't see it happening either. Sucks there isn't much room back there to add more stuff. I would love a slingshot back there.

There is plenty of room for one of those and more.

Vertigo was a drop ride. It dropped.

I think its funny when people mention space back in challenge park. Here is a mindless trivia question. What was the original proposed location for Ripcord? Here is a clue, take a peak in the 1996 get away guide. *** Edited 3/2/2006 10:48:16 PM UTC by Frank Sinatra***

Funny. I thought Vertigo was a Topple Tower. :)

Why don't you clue those of us in who don't have access to a 1996 Getaway Guide?

Topple tower, oohhh snap.

I personally almost wouldn't like it if they became included in regular admissions, because then you'd have to deal with lines and the like. Because they're pay-to-play (and the GP doesn't really know what it is sometimes), it's usually close to deserted.

On the topic though, I don't see it happening. They would have to raise the regular price so much that they'd end up losing customers for something that a lot of people might not even know about (of course, if they did do it, it'd obviously get a lot of marketing, so then more people would know I guess).

Well, not really. It dropped after you were launched up.

What do you mean "Not Really"? It dropped as in the ride fell over.

Hmm, Rip Cord on/near the beach would be interesting.

As for the pricing, I've heard rumors that Rip Cord could be seeing a price cut this year, but don't expect to see it included in admission anytime soon..... or ever.

Even more interesting is the location where it was rumored to be moved to.
