Challenge Park project photos.

For those of you who haven't visited CoasterBuzz recently, you may have missed this, but thanks to wonderful Intamin2k (hehe), you don't have to. :)

It's construction photos of the Challenge Park project. Footers have been poured! It's not really all that exciting, but for those of you who don't plan to be getting to the Point too soon (like me), but still want to see what's going on, it's nice.

Enjoy! :)

Photos will be coming to the same address probably about 2 times a week for the next few weeks. It doesn't make sense to update more than that.

So basically the ride sits exactly where the kiddie gokarts used to be?

One question: HOW TALL?

And your POINT is...
I heard the structure is around 250.

So about 300 feet then, do to the sling shot?

And your POINT is...

If not alittle higher. Think that if the "bungees" streatch the full 250ft up the tower the "elastic-snap" will be almost that great. It maybe be well over 300ft.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
I have heard that each of the towers is around 265-275 feet, and you get launched up to 300 feet. Note, "bungees" are not used with this type of ejector seat, instead they are cables.

-------------
Steuks!!
Cables don’t stretch (maybe a little). So, if you got shot up approximately 270 feet, and came to a stop at the top you would probably experience very high vibrations, same on the trip down. But, if they shot you up and then you came to a gradual stop and did the same coming down then I could see cables being used. Other then cables I could see them using bungee, then you could be stretched that extra 30-40 feet.

No it definitely uses cables. But the cables probably have some slack in them, and thats why you get launched that extra amount of feet.

Have the kiddie go-karts been removed or are they still there?

Why are they getting the bungee shot thing when they have Power Tower, which is basically the same thing, but you don't have to pay? Doesn't make too much sense.

MF Laps- 0, MXL200 Laps- 0, Raptor Laps- 0, Mantis Laps- 0, etc. etc... All to change on July 31st
Because this is NOT the same thing as Power Tower, it is WAY different. You will see come August 1st...

-------------
Steuks!!
how are you supposed to stop or slow down if you get shot up 300 feet with a bungee cord attached
No one really knows that much about the ride yet. I was at the park today and there really hasn't been that much change at the construction site over the weekend, although a new sign was added. I've got a couple more pics at my site.

I cannot wait to ride this. Over at the ThrillRide forums all of the SFMM fanboys are not beleiving that we are getting this ride before them!

mf laps = 100! No More No Less!!
Just the carts themselfs, or the whole track?

All of it track carts and I don't know where the tires went.

they should move the power tower camera facing soak city/challenge park.so we can watch the progress of the new attraction
Hmmm, it's too bad that the Kiddie Karts are gone. I guess parents must not be willing to pay three dollars (or whatever they costed) for their kids to drive Go-Karts.
