When I go to CP next week, I fully plan to take my cell phone with me BUT the big difference with me is that I only plan to use it in the event of an emergency or if someone needs to get ahold of me in a major way. In fact I'm going to leave it in the glove compartment of my truck and just check for voice messages at the end of the day.
I have no interest in calling my friends while I'm ascending a lift hill only to have to try to safely tuck my phone away before going down the hill and through the elements.
I just don't understand some people and their cell phones. What did we do with ourselves before the cell phone came along? I tell you what we did, we actually enjoyed a day out without somehow always staying connected to work or something else. Poo on that noise...I'm on vacation. I don't need to "stay in touch with the office"! :)

Pearl Jam + Cedar Point=Heaven on earth.
"If people can't enjoy a day at an amusement park without taking their cell phone along, they have a problem! it really irritates me to see cell phones everywhere!"
Gotta respectfully disagree. While it is definitely the show-offs who yack where everyone can see them and be impressed (yawn), those phones are a God-send when your party is split apart for one reason or another. The cell phones, and the FRS radios always go to CP! No more of this wandering the park crap, trying to pick a familiar face or shirt out of a sea of humanity.

But, since I work at a university, I'm used to seeing cell phones EVERYWHERE. They become so inexpensive to use now, many students use them as their primary phone. They are not going to go away, and will be more and more common in public places.
