Cell Phone in Water by Mavverick

I was at CP a few weeks ago and i saw that there was an open cell phone in the water by the bridge part of the maverick line. i was just wondering if anyone else has seen.

Yes i saw the open cell phone also,ill bet the person who dropped it wasnt to happy neither,its been in the water since at least june 24th.

I think it's gone now, or at least it's no longer visible. I haven't noticed it the last few times I've ridden Maverick.

What is visible is a disgusting amount of trash. I know it's cleaned out nightly. I just don't understand people's need to throw their trash in the pond, especially when there are plenty of trash cans all through the queue.

Yes! I saw that during my trip. It is visible from the wooden part of the quene close to the quene house.

I saw it when your on the last switchback from going onto the bridge.

The first time I rode Maverick, everyone was doing the wave through the queues. I was waiting at the edge of the pond across from the pop machines. A girl in front of me was talking on her cell phone when someone near her threw their hands up and knocked it right into the pond. I watched it sink down, with the LCD screen still lit up. It reminded me of watching Titanic, when the ship is going down and you see the lights flash and go out. She couldn't believe it but everyone around her thought it was funny.

I guess you should keep your cell phone in a cargo pocket, not only while riding a coaster, but while waiting in line for one too. :)

Or just leave it at home. :)

^^ Wow, that's just extremely unfortunate! I guess cell phone's aren't safe anywhere!

But as a general rule of thumb, i usually just follow halltd's advice above.

This is so funny... i was actually in line with a friend July 1st at roughly 9pm and saw that guy lose the phone. He was up on the bridge trying to get his friends attention waving his arms around with the phone in his hand, and then he loses the phone and throws it in the water. Then to make things better he tries to jump in after it, and his friends grabbed him by the back of his shirt and pants to stop him from jumping in the whole line started clapping at his stupidity(It made my day) You cant see it now but im sure its still there its a silver flip phone that is still open its around the second pole in the wooden walkway after it starts going straight. I tell everyone I meet in line about seeing it happen. I had to join the forums just to tell everyone when I saw this thread.

That must be a different phone,cause the phone i saw was in the water by maverick on june 24th.

I was there at 10 a.m. the same day and the phone was there... therefore, not the same guy, even if the story is true.

throwing trash into the pond is stupid, all that does is make more work for the night clean up crew, grow up ppl put your trash in the trash can.

I've been there a few other times since, but never thought to look for another phone... now the water is green and you can't see it anymore though.
