Cedar Point VS Universal Studios Theme Parks

I'm Here right now (universal studios), and I have to say, that this place is awsome! theres not as many Roller coasters as CP, but what they do have has the best theming of any park that I have been to. Were going to Sea World and Bush Gardens this week also. Here is the question, FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN TO BOTH PARKS, Which do you prefer?

Personally, I prefer Cedar Point, but after comming down here for my second time, there really is no comparision between how the two parks are laid out. to me, CP is made like somthing that I would make on roller coaster tycon 3; roller coasters every where, and no real theming. Universal Studios Islands of adventure has, more than likely the best themed areas I have ever seen, and I've been to alot of theme parks. Universial studios Islands of adventure looks more like the parks that are on RCT3 that are generated by the system. I know that CP cant do the elaborate theming that USIoA does, mainly becasue of the brutal weather, but it does leave Somthing to be desired.

Another example, the incredible Hulk Coaster. I think that its the best BM sit down coaster that I have been on. plus the theming; going through Bruce Banners (SP?) Lab, and what happenes when you are launched out of the tunnel.

I cant wait to go to Bush gardens at some point this week. I'll try to post some pictures (if allowed)

I love Monkeys! I love Monkeys!

Universal is as the name says a THEME park where as Cedar Point is an AMUSEMENT park. The themeing is great at Universal if your there for the show. If you are there to ride then Cedar Point is the Place. I have always tried to explain the difference to people.
I guess the best way to show the difference is Cedar Point is all about the ride where as Disney or Universal is about showmanship.

And that is why Cedar Point markets itself as an AMUSEMENT park and not a theme park.

There really is no comparison between the two. One is a seasonal regional park. The other is a year round resort destination.

If a person can't compare two completely unrelated entities, then the terrorists have won, John.

I have to disagree. I went to Universal Studios in December and was very unhappy with just about everything. The hype didn't live up. Hulk was fun; until the mid course. Dual Dragons is nice, but you can the ride allows you to see into the staff only areas behind the park (a big no no in theme parks). Islands of Adventure lacked energy (could be the fact that no one was there) and the rides weren't running at the greatest capacity. Universal Studios was a waste of my time (I won't go back for a while).

Now Disney on the other hand is amazing. All four parks are extremely detailed, but Animal Kingdom is the one that really did it for me. I was just blown away with the detail with every building down to the restrooms and the paths. The tree of life is amazing. And don't get me started on Expedition Everest and the other e-tickets at the park. Anyone can try, but no one can surpass Disney when it comes to theming.

Cedar Point isn't a theme park and it can't compare to the Florida parks. First of all the budget for the parks are way different.
