Cedar Point VIP?

TTD 120mph's avatar

I know this may be a stupid question but, how long has Cedar Point been offering VIP tours?
I have remembered talks of tours of the rides and whatever, and just noticed a VIP tour section on CP's website. It mentions:
-Special parking
-Your own tour guide
-VIP admission into the park
-No waiting in lines for rides
-Exclusive entry to rides and attractions
-VIP seating at select shows
-Private viewing area for Snoopy’s Summer Spectacular
-Call-ahead reservations at any restaurant
-Complimentary on-ride photos (where available)

I know it doesnt really mention anything about insites into how the rides and attractions work. It's just that this is the first time I've heard of VIP tours at Cedar Point. So, sorry if I've been ignorent for not realizing it untill now.

Tell me, what is the difference between

-No waiting in lines for rides
-Exclusive entry to rides and attractions

Does this mean that you don't have to wait and you can walk through the exit?

Anyway, a VIP tour would be so awesome. $1,500 for 6 people, that's only about, what, $1,200 more than usual? I wish I had that much disposible income... that would rock so hard. And you get free on ride photos!!! What more can you ask???

Wow, if you can get 6 people to go with you that is only $250 a person! Not bad.....:O

Joey from Nsync came up the exit with a silver tagged marketing guy and I strapped him in (unbeknownst to me until 30 minutes later)...all I remember is I was at Load-1 and my ATL shouted "hold 2 front row"...I just wrote it off as a special access and never thought anything of it until I heard what really happened...but I didn't care because I'm not an Nsync fan!

Not to be confused with Twisted Wicker 08 from 2002

I believe the park has been doing something along those lines for celebrities for awhile... It's just recently, however, that the public can get in on it... At least officially.

It proves that you can buy anything, however.

Correct me if I am wrong but I seem to remember Don Miers in the late 90s when all the fastpass/vip stuff came into other parks said that he felt every guest needed to be treated equal. Sure 'famous' people are different because well 'security reasons'... but I'm not sure how happy I would be if a rich family cuts in front of me after waiting 45 minutes for a ride.

Call me crazy but this is a turn-off for me, I guess people like to make money, but how happy are going people like myself and others who pay the high prices and wait in line only to be cut in front of by the rich people.

We arn't talking about one person, we are talking upwards of 6 people cutting in line. Sure on the big coasters thats not that big of a deal, but for some of the rides with less capacity, its a big deal. And this "Exclusive entry to rides and attractions" is strange... that makes it sound like they may shut down part of the ride just for the VIP party? *** Edited 8/14/2005 7:22:21 PM UTC by CoasterRider310***

My guess is that you won't see many families taking advantadge of the VIP tour, it will stay mostly celebrities and their families. I would gladly give up my seat on maXair, Blue Streak, or MF to any of the cast of Whose Line (Carey, Brady...). lol

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Sorry Walt, I guess I have a knack for posting stuff when I later find out they're in the news section.

All hail the shiny bald spot! Although Ryan and Chip are absolutely hilarious with the music stuff.

You mean Wayne and Chip. Ryan doesnt sing. Except for some of the other games like 3 headed Browdway Star, Scene To Rap, Hoedown, and........

Nevermind

Back on topic, I was thinking that for the price, they should show the VIP guests how some of the rides work. maXair, WT, MF, PT,cough!cough!TTDcough!cough! :)

I think VIP and fastpass things in parks suck totally. Well, let me rephrase, ones that cost money suck. At least CPs and Disney's are free. The one at Six Flags angers me to no end. And, if CP allows people to "buy" their way onto a ride quicker, I'll be very angry with them too. At least now it costs so much that most people won't use it. But, if it becomes a FastLane thing like SF has, I don't even want to think about it. ha ha!!

Behind the scenes tours for money would be cool though. Disney does that and its hella cool!!

TTD 120mph, you actually made your post before I posted the news article. The story was in today's newspaper.
