Jeff, how do you feel about the removal of the tree?

Is that the tree that was kind of wedged in between the stadium's spiral ramp and the aquarium?

C'mon Cedar Point... you have to work harder to keep the trees in that area. We don't need another Camp Snoopy-esque clear cut.

I'm thinking that's the one Jeff, but I'm not 100% sure. You can see it at the top of this photo.

To add to this story - it is the tree inside the spiral ramp, as shown in the above link. The Morning Journal also had a story, saying the tree blocked the view of Wicked Twister and did not fit in with the new landscaping. At least they saved it.

Jeff, did you check out the vast expanse of concrete in the last, most recent picture posted on the website? Where is the landscaping? A few shade trees would have been great for spectators to sit and watch the launches.

In all fairness that area has been treeless for ages, even when Kid Arthur's Court and the aquarium were there. Some younger trees were planted on either side of Giant Wheel, and I'm sure they'll add a few to the perimeter of the Twister queue. Aside from the tree in the Oceana ramp, we might actually end up with more trees than we started with!

I might add that the trees on that midway, the really huge ones, are sacred as far as I'm concerned and must never be removed.

I was just concerned from the pictures on the website. I'm sure come opening day, I'll be happy :-)

I have to agree with Jeff. There may not be shade there this year or next year, but wait 10 years and that is going to be a great shades spot. Just look at the pictures of when the Cinema was first built. The trees that are there now are the same size as the ones planted by GW and that spot has a lot of shade compared to the rest of the midway there.

Those trees by the former IMAX were planted in the late 1970's. 25 years ago.
