Cedar Point will once again tie for most coaster's as B&M track has arrived at SFMM... Sffm will be opening a b&m floorless for anyone who didn't already know in 2003.
Maybe CP will pull that other idea back out and actually take the record for 17 instead of getting stuck in second again in 03 with 16, hmmm...

Seriously, I don't think Dick Kinzel had any idea until you posted this. He just curled up in the fetal postion to suck his thumb after screaming, "Noooooooo! Damn you Magic Mountain! Damn you all to hell!" a la Charleton Heston.

But besides the Coaster count, we should realize what a real gem of a park we have in Cedar Point.
The employees rival only one other park that I have been to, and that is Disney World.
The park is beautifully designed and laid out. It is very clean, and a great place to escape to. Being on a peninsula gives it a unique atmosphere that no other park has.
I dont care who has the most, the highest, the fastest. We clearly have the best. And that is much more than anyone else, anywhere else can say.

CP still rules SFMM's new coaster will 99% most likely be a clone of anything Six Flags has right down to the name and color. How boring is that?
rrrright, Six Flags ALWAYS clones everything, and CP has NEVER cloned anything... Keep telling yourself that...

- VF's Corkscrew lacks CP's 2nd hop before the loop and adds a helix
- VF's PT is 10 feet taller (ride segment), 25 feet shorter (total height) and has one less leg
-VF's Thunder Canyon has a different layout than CP's and you almost never get wet
- VF"s Challenge Park only has a single unit Skycoaster unlike CP's double-unit arch
- WOF's Mamba lacks the tunnels that SF has and there are slight differences in the approach and departure to the turnaround sequence
- CP's CS has a whip and the other two don't
- WOF's CS doesn't have a Zamperla kiddie coaster
So if you wanna get really, really, really technical....no, CF has never cloned anything. They just got within a nose hair of doing it roughly 18 zillion times. Does this look as silly to you as it does to me? Have I covered every 'did not--did too?' and therefore pre-empted any potential 'clone' squabble?
Of course, without 'cloning' there'd only be one McDonald's restaurant in Illinois somewhere and you'd still be waiting 20 minutes in a restaurant every day to eat lunch. All hail cloning.

Also, the new impulse coaster's stats at VF sure seem pretty identical to the impulses found at Aurora, Oh. and Gurnee, Ill.
