I think it would be cool if Cedar Point did a series of concerts during the summer on the Iron Dragon Midway. I think it would draw in a lot of people and could be sponsored and stuff. Who else thinks this is a good idea??
"If it looks good, you'll see it; if it sounds good, you'll hear it, if it's marketed right, you'll buy it; but... if it's real, you'll feel it."
We had a thread on this a few months ago. The general concensus was anything that people would want to listen to the park wouldn't be okay with having. Anything the park was okay with having wouldn't be stuff people would want to listen to.
I personally like the idea and think the park would benefit from it.
Also depends where it was at (in the park), and how they would market it.
Ofcourse, it'd have to be family-appropiate.
Country? sure.
Maybe some rock? sure.
No rap, hip hop, death metal, and they'd be fine.

Guess you're okay. There was also comments about what time the concert would end at, and how'd they be able to clean all the sound stuff up in time for the next morning.
haha HERE'S an idea for how they could use millenium island... make it a mini 'pleasure island' concert venue, couple clubs... yeah ok... that would NEVER work... something like tha ton the beach though would be so nice.

Actually a good place to have concerts and stuff. The Ballroom, I don't know how many people you could fit in, but you could charge a separate admission and have any type of music you want. It would be an indoor event , so no need to worry about weather, sound would be lessened to where no neighbors could hear it. And Equipment could be left for as long as needed since they can lock it up.

I always thought the Dragster Mid-Field would be a sweet place for a stage. Of course none of the bands I really like would be able to play ( Skinny Puppy, KMFDM,) Although they play The Killers and Franz Ferninand in lines.. and both those bands put on amazing shows.
I would not be opposed to using the Ballroom for concerts either. They'd finally get some use out of it aside from a Costume storage space for Live Shows.
And aside from current popular bands, it would be nice to see something for the 65 + crowd like the Johnny Knorr Orchestra, The Lettermen, etc. It'd be to CP's advantage to showcase a VARIETY of musical acts.
Yeah, Coaster, the Dragster infield would be a good spot. I'd bet CP wouldn't do it, though, as they'd want to draw people into a different area (less crowded) of the park.

If it is rock like Alternative rock (not alternative, but alternative rock there is a difference), like 89X (88.7) music, which I know you can hear in Sandusky, I think most of those bands will be ok. If the families don't like the music they can move along and ride the rides, but please if Cedar Point does ever do this I hope they don't have the snobby music crap like Jessica Simpson.

Why not Jessica Simpson or some classic/non-alternative rock? If you don't like it, move along and ride the rides.
I'de just be happy enough if they could find a way to show the Ohio State games on the laser screen in the fall. :)

Considering God gave her a walnut for a brain, it's a wonder she's not covered in burns from trying to shower in the oven.

I have to go by the music to go to the rides (especially MF if its by the big screen), and I don't want to gag and have my ears bleed when I'm going to the rides. I know you are going to say "well it's the same with me with your music" I'm just giving my opinion of what I like and don't like.

That would be cool. Have the Ohio State Vs. Michigan rivalry when they play. Also the Michigan State Vs. Ohio State games (if State gets its act together in football). I know I would go, and they should have the rides (at least some) open as well.

How would it make any more money for the park? Until you figure that out this idea is dead.

The big game. The picture would be really clear during the bright morning hours. And all it takes is one fan to take a family place and turn it into a brawl.
Concerts-In all I don't like the idea just because concerts have there own place.

Or, you could just not go to the park at all, I guess.
I mean, it's either your money, or the money of 1500 Jessica Simpson fans. If I was CP, I'd take the 1500 fans' money. Just thinking like a business, I guess.
I don't know what you listen to, but I listen to pretty much anything.
