I'm just wondering who likes to take pictures at Cedar Point? What kind of equipment do you like to take with you.
I like to take my etch-a-sketch and just go wild ;)

I do! I used to just use my cell phone camera. But I recently hot a new Nikon that I will now be using.
Ever since I was a little kid (a looong time ago) I've loved taking pics of CP. Because of the delay with my cheap point & shoot camera, I like to use a Sony camcorder to shoot video, then lift frames from the footage. The point & shoot is OK for static shots, but not for coasters. One day I'll get a real camera. I like the cheaper cameras because you can fit 'em in your pocket!
started taking CP pics about 1995,some before that but not many.
35mm to about 2001,digital since then.
Have a little over 3500 CP pics, may seem like a lot but there's always pics I need to get going forward.
35mm was Nikon,digital is Nikon.

I always take pictures at CP. You can see many of my CP pictures (among other parks) at my Flickr:

As far as gear goes, it always changes. Currently I am using a Canon 5D Mark II, 24-105L, 35L, 135L, 70-200 f/2.8L II and Saymang 14mm f/2.8 lenses. Along with filters, flash, tripods, etc...
In the past I have used many different lenses, the Canon 7D and Original 5D. Always switching my gear around!
I enjoy going to the park for morning ERT and once the park opens take pictures for an hour or two then head out. Last year I was not there much (more time at GL due to heat). But I will prob be back at CP a little more often this year due to the waterpark improvements! On my hardrives I probably have well over 5,000 photos from CP alone in the past few years.

I'm a Canon guy too, with a 5D, 7D and a variety of lenses. I haven't done much shooting at theme parks in the las few years, save for Universal Orlando early last year. (Here's a few from that trip.) I haven't endeavored much lately in photos beyond my kid, because, well, had a kid. That and living in the Northwest was not conducive to park visits.
Truth be told, I don't like to carry gear to parks. Particularly if I'm going to a place I visit frequently, I just bring my little Canon S95.

I got my first digital camera back in 2005 a Canon Powershot, took lots of pictures on my theme park trips with them, gone through three of them from dropping to water damage. Last December I bought a Canon EOS Rebel T31 from amazon, with a 18-55mm EF-S lens.

I just use my BlackBerry camera. It actually takes better pictures than my digital camera! For videos, I use a cheap Flip camera, which takes good 720p video during the day, but only does a decent job at night. I can also lift up frames from my videos for still pictures.

I have a Nikon D90, but I never took it to CP, because I have no idea what to do with it when I'm going on the rides.
What do you do with your SLR cameras while on rides?
If and when I do go to a theme park this year, I do not think I'll be bring my camera bag into the park. That's just me.

At CP, I just leave my gear in the car inside the camera bag when I do not use it. I will generally take photos morning/evening and ride in between. I have all my stuff insured if anything should happen, and feel like my car is probably better safe spot for my stuff.
I did the same thing when we went to CW for the first time... Enjoyed the park all morning and grabbed my camera later in the day to get shots around the park. Then back to the car when I am done (or in that case, it was time for the Halloween stuff, so I just kept it all on me).
In Florida and such, we will generally have a point and shoot with us (S95), but since we go so often I will take my gear with me and we will just spend a few hours taking photos and not riding. Or at Aquatica for example, we got a large locker to hold my camera and one other lens to use.
I generally just use the car though!

.
Great pic of MF with the lightning!
When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835
Thanks! One of the coolest nights at the point I have experienced. Crazy lightning storm, pouring rain, midways clear and enjoying starlight. Taking photos and videos at the same time. Almost surreal, although a bit dangerous... :)
You can see part of that storm in my video I did that year (around 2:20 mark):

Please note, videos are not my specialty by far! Anytime I take all my stuff to do the videos the lighting is terrible, it rains, etc... This year my goal is take good enough footage to put together a really epic CP video. We shall see how that goes this year, though... But it is my goal for the 4th straight year now or so. :)
