Cedar Point Open Near Christmas?

Hello everyone! I'm having a really difficult time remembering if this was a dream or reality. But, several years ago, did CP open the park near Christmas? There were activities such as sleigh rides through the park, taking pictures with Santa in the Blue Streak train, and some rides like the carousel may have been open. This just popped into my head, and I'm torn as to whether it was a dream or not.

If this event did exist, did anyone attend it? And I don't think there were too many activites planned to draw people to come, so I assume it flopped and they've never tried it again?

I believe that there was an event at the park for the holidays quite a few years ago. I don't have any details but I'm sure that some of the old timers around here have more answers.

"Christmas in the Park" was held December 10-30, 1994. The Midway Carousel, Park Plaza, and Sweets n' Treats were open for the event. A horse drawn carriage touring behind the scenes at the park, area choirs, Christmas music, Santa in a Magnum car, and a Christmas tree on the midway were also part of the festivities. Hours of operations were: Monday - Saturday, 11 AM - 8 PM; Sunday 12 PM - 5 PM; Christmas Eve, 11 AM - 3PM; Christmas Day, closed.

It tanked something fierce. Nobody wants to be on that peninsula in the winter time....trust me.

Hmmm actually I would like to beable to see the park in the winter time.Although with the wind chills it might be abit unbearable. However if you could get one of those nice winter days with the sun shining and the snow on the ground and covering the coasters and rides it might be worth it.
I think it would give a new perception on the park with no crowds.quiet times and NO LINES to wait in.Walking through Frontierland in the summer is nice but I bet it looks even better in the winter with the snow around.Might be nice to take a stroll around and see the park sleeping.
When my wife and myself go in the summer we have a great time and both wish we could stroll it in the winter and enjoy the quiet times.
ok enough babbling now.
I hope by saying "no lines" you mean that there won't even BE any lines right?
Yes that is what I meant- thanks for the clarification.
But don't they take all of the cars of the tracks and put them in the parking lot? I have seen pictures of it of Chrismas Eve, or so the picture says.

Actually causewaycruiser, walking through Frontier Town in the winter is really cool. :) And yes, they do take all the coaster cars off the track, I've got a few pics of myself standing next to various unassembled coaster trains.
