Cedar Point Mascots Pre 1983

I know they had the Berenstain Bears before the Peanuts, but was was before them? I've seen some Cedar Point videos from the 70s that had some multi-colored dog-like costumed characters walking around.

The characters you see here debuted in 1977. They are the Cedar Pointers: Barney Bulldog; Cassie Bassett; and Daniel Spaniel.

They look like they must have been a response to KI's Banana Splits.
