Cedar Point is officially the Roller Coaster Capitol of the World

How much thought does it take to realize that Cedar Point is the roller coaster capitol. Cedar Point Has Had four different coaster that debuted as the tallest and the fastest in the world. Cedar Point sets the example that everyone else follows.

I think you mean capital, unless you're talking about that place in Washington where they bicker about stuff.

Cedar Point changed the game only once, with Magnum. Millennium Force was essentially built concurrently with Steel Dragon.

The LA Times article is only referring to the total count, which it did not always have at the top.

The Times article mentions that the coaster Psyclone at SFMM was torn down a few years ago. I rode this wooden coaster and found it as rough a ride as Mean Streak. Anyone know if they had the same builder?

Yes they have the same builder and designer.

But I believe all wooden coasters should be rough, it gives it thrill.

Clearly you've never been to Holiday World.

I need to go to Holiday World...it is close and all.

I think my girlfriend and I decided to not go to Six Flags Great America ( I wanted to ride a top spin, raging bull, superman, batman). But we at this time are deciding to go to CP more this summer and purchase season passes.

We thought about Six Flags and the reputation they have gathered of expensive, slow moving lines, and other just rumors read on the internet. Rides not running, $15 parking, $55 admission per person, fast past is pretty costly, and the other stuff you have come to hear about with Six Flags even though Six Flags tries to compete with Cedar Fair.

We know what we are getting in to when we go to CP. There is no other place where we can ride TTD, MF, Raptor, Maverick, Maxair, Skyhawk, WT, and other great rides all in one place.

You get everything in one place for prices that are very modest. I think if a $150 platinum pass gets me free parking at any park and early entrance to CP I will be more than happy to purchase one. We almost did last year but opted out because we just didn't think we would keep going, but we did. 5 times total...(once for a week ya know). So needless to say we spent more than $500 in tickets easily last season. I just thought "ride and slides" were a good deal (which they still are for people who don't go more than once a year).

CP just remains so diverse with the rides. What is the point in us going all the way to Hersheypark, Great Adventure, Dollywood, etc to just ride a one or two coasters, or in Great Adventure's case quite a few.

In the end...I can't friggin wait until I get done with this semester and get to CP.
