Cedar Point Idol

Fox Toledo just did a cool story about the live shows at CP and how much incredible talent is in those shows. Not really much to discuss, all they did was talk about some of the live shows and interview a few performers, including one that had tried out for American Idol. In all, a nice story promoting the undercredited CP shows.

What you say Cedar Point has live shows? I thought it only had 16 coasters and thats it. nothing else!

On a sincer comment CP's LiveE shows are the best. Alot of time and hard work goes into them and they probably in another park get more recognition if the main attraction of rollercoasters weren't so great! Applause for the LiveE crew, even the ones not on stage.

I wouldn't say totally "undercredited". They did receive three Big E awards from IAAPA, and at least one the year before.

Well the average Joe going to CP most likely hasn't heard about it. i know alot of people were shocked when they heard about the live shows.

The average joe IS given a park brochure when they pay for parking, although it wouldn't surprise me if anyone under the age of 25 actually reads them or cares about shows...most are there for the thrills.

Other than that, it's hard to miss the Centennial Theatre and Snoopy Rocks on Ice, or the high dive show, all extremely visible just walking down the midways. And I can't count the number of times I've walked by the Red Garter and heard the music and caught glimpses of the show through the swinging doors, or seen the show times posted outside.

I think OldCPer is on the money. When I was a youngster, you wouldn't catch me within 100 yards of a show seeing as how there were coasters to ride. Now that I have youngsters, shows, sit-down restaurants, soak city, ... are all part of the trip.

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

I just don't think they get enough credit for the hard work they put into their shows. I guess we are all arguing that they are awesome, and we are glad that they are getting more recognition for their hard work, which is always good.
I know alot of people who say "I don't want to go to Cedar Point all they have is big coasters", and these are the above 25 y/o.
