Cedar Point Hold Music

When I called Cedar Point today, while I was on hold, I heard a really good Cedar Point Jingle. In it, it was called the Amazement Park, so I assume it is from before the 1990s. The used the "Get to the Point!" slogan.

Anyone have any idea where I might be able to find a copy of that jingle, or maybe identify the year? Sounds like a nice MP3 to have, for the iPod I plan to buy.

Well i know that the song you're talking about appears on "Get to the Point: A video tour of Cedar Point on Lake Erie." Its a video i bought back in 98 i think?

I for real think that probably one topic about the iPod that you may or may not buy was enough. However, since you started another one, will you do me a favor?

My email address is in my profile. Can you send me an email (every day) letting me know the status of your possible iPod ownership? This way, I will know if you bought one or not, and I will be able to sleep a little better.

Thanks!

No need. I got it today. This thread was not about getting an iPod, it was about the song I heard while I hold when I called Cedar Point, and where I could find a copy.

It is mean people like you that take away from the fun here at GTTP! I apologize for my harsh tone, but your sarcasm angered me.

Get to the Point was used back in 87(?) for a season or two.

Call CP be put on hold and then hit record on your tape player...Then you'll have the song;)

.. because that's about the only way you're gonna get it.. hehehe

The jingles are locked down tighter than the auto-spiels.. hehehe Basically had to sign them out when I was recording the music for the front gates.

Great Rob! Now we know who to thank for our wonderful soundtrack, be sure to stop and say hi.

And Lance (you mean guy you) I just wanted to let you know that I did indeed buy an iPod just two days ago. I bought the case last night as well. Just thought I'd let you know.

There is a single 2-minute version of the "Get to the Point" jingle that has escaped into the wild, courtesy of the image video from circa. 1992 (it requires a bit of editing to get the whole thing, but because of the way the video was put together the edit is very easy). But that is NOT the version that was used for commercials, for the opening audio tape, or for the Calypso/Matterhorn PA music. Same song, different recording......

Well, I did get a copy of the song, and it seemed to sound a little different than what I heard on hold, though it sounded like the same song.

Whatever will get me through the final two months works.

And now with my iPod, I can easily get through the rest of the offseason;).

i actually remember a summer jingle from the mid 70's i am guessing, dont know how but it has stuck in my mind for ages
I called the park again today, and again heard the Get to the Point jingle. But what I heard on the phone was with male vocals, and seemed to either have more lyrics or different lyrics than what I heard from other members on the site.

EDIT: Anywhere I can get a copy of this? And I buy my music, so please don't tell me to look on Kazaa.
