Cedar Point disses Six Flags

I was talking to my cousin today and he said when he was at CP getting his pass picture taken that he heard some workers talking. From what he heard the Six Flags with Kingda Ka called and said that they were having many problems with it and was asking for CP's help. CP answered saying something along the lines of "We figured it all out on our own. You wanna beat us and be bigger and better than you figure it out on your own." Any thoughts?

And I said that I'd only make postitive posts towards people from here on out...

CP just roasted them bad. I think that is a good answer. Remember, TTD is still the tallest and fastest OPERATING coaster in the world. TTD still holds the record until KK opens. Technically, we still have the record

If thats true, thats funny. But I doubt SF would go so low as to ask its competitor for help.

Technically, TTD isn't the tallest, but it is the fastest. From what I have heard, KingDa Ka hasn't even had one successful train over the top. Is this true?

2012 - Magnum XL 200 Crew

It has made it over the top.

true but in my opinion it doesn't mean a thing until it opens to the public. I still think TTD is the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster until the day kk opens to the public.

I think that's a BEAUTIFUL answer. Ever since I saw Kingda Ka for the first time, I thought that they were just going to leech off of everything we've learned from TTD (wheels, water cooling of the cable, etc). Looks like that isn't so, though.

2009 - Games Supervisor
2010 - Season pass holder.

Wow, we're like that bulldog that snaps when a squirrel steps in the yard. Who the hell cares if they leech? Just shorter lines IMO.

The season pass office has the inside scoop. *** Edited 5/16/2005 1:31:53 AM UTC by Anonymous***

2005 - Magnum XL-200/Camp Snoopy/Monster/Witches Wheel

i work 4 six flags(dont hate...lol) and i honestly believe that! of course they asked for help..CP is the best park in the WORLD.

Six Flags would ask Intamin for help. They'd never call Cedar Point. Intamin knows their rides more than Cedar Point does. This story isn't true.

Besides, Kingda Ka is testing well and it's going to be rather amusing when it runs better than Dragster (because it probably will). Don't get me wrong, I love Cedar Point, but all of this Kingda Ka hate is crap. It's taller and faster, give it its record, fight another day, and get over it.

Well the way that Six Flags parks maintain their rides, I wouldn't be suprised if Kingda Ka was always down because of poor maintenance. The chain doesnt have very much money either so they have a hard time being able to afford fixing their rides. *** Edited 5/16/2005 2:48:44 AM UTC by Jethro***

Yeah because you know, CP has trouble with one that's 420' tall and goes 120 mph, if SF builds one that's 36' taller and 8 mph faster it's bound to run 100 times better. That's logic for you.

Kingda Ka has had little problems but it has passed inspection and has been operating for workers. This weekend people where given tours of it and from Six Flags they are doing a photoshoot on Tuesday and hope to have a "soft opening" this weekend so enjoy TTD as the tallest and Fastest one last time cause Six Flags owns it this week.

What a stand for TTD 2 years and one month, longer than Millennium Force

Fastball84, having shorter lines for Dragster because more people will have ridden it is fine, but shorter lines because there are less people in the park overall is very, very bad.

If you remember back when Dragster first debuted, Dragster ran fine for about the first month and then they started having problems. I suspect that we will see a similar result out of KK. It's not getting it up and running that's difficult, it's running it all day, everyday and fighting the ride's wear and tear as a result of constant stress on the hydraulic motor. It's pretty much unavoidable with a the amount of stress that's being put on the cable and motor. This is where inferior maintenance crews will kill the ride.

If I recall, Dragster ran like crap on media day and for the first few weeks.

You're not making much sense. Do some reading around the internet and you'll discover Six Flags has been making some great strides to boost the quality of their parks. Kingda Ka will all but solidy Great Adventure's spot as their key park just as Cedar Point is in Cedar Fair. I'm sure the maintenance division is being well trained by Intamin for Kingda Ka's arrival.

What? Logic for me is the fact that Intamin has had 2 years since Dragster's opening to nearly perfect this type of coaster. It's pretty much common sense dude whether you use that in your daily life or not. New technology takes time to perfect and although this may be hard for you to imagine, Kingda Ka is probably more advanced than Dragster.
