Cedar Point Coaster Models

I made a 8ft. tall T.T.D. out of k'nex. With only 2 rippen rocket boosters. To achevie this I bought 2 adaptors so the motors could run on electricity instead of batery. Heres the big secret though. The motors are for 4.5 volts. The addaptors I had were adjustable from 1v.- 12v. Thus I crank up the volts and away it goes. I also recently threw out my Dissaster transport model. It was about 6 inches tall. The reason d.t. is because its inclosed. Thus cardboard was used for the walls. Unfortunatly it was in my room and a very humid day hit. All the scotch tape came off. Beyond trying to fix it. Who knows. I am very intreged by the model coasters. I may try to make t.t.d. and put it on my shelf in my room. I only have a foot of clearance so it will be very scalled down. Or i could put it on my dresser. Either way I have a bunch of this little collored sticks. They came with glue so kids can make little 2d things with them but ill see wut I can do with ttd. *** Edited 8/31/2004 11:50:55 PM UTC by FunkyJive***
Joe, could you send me pictures of your TTD model and unfinished MF model? E-Mail is tommy_waffle@hotmail.com

First trip to the Point coming on July 11 - 14 WAHOO

Yeah i just finished my TTD Model, well not completley, its about 7 inches tall & made off 100% ToothPicks its taken me 4 days, since i started saturday morning, all i have done is the main tower, i still need to make a little christmas tree, & a little station, it should be around another week, since i have school for half the day, but i cant wait to post pictures, & im adding and engine room to my Knex TTD, Okay heres how it goes, i made a Light up Christmas Tree for my Knex TTD, then i just ran the rest of the lights through a paper towel roll under the launch track, then into a little box i am going to make look like the engine room, then all the lights will be lit up & I glued the Sign that reads the speed off the train to the engine room, & then with an exacto knife i cut out a 121 wheres it says "Your Speed, so you can see 121 lit up in the dark its sooooo awsome, & i need to get another screaming serpent to Finish My Millennium Force, but i cant find them anywhere.... It really sucks, OHHH yeah & also My Knex TTD works on rubberbands, & launches a screamin serpent train, it almost dosent make it over itss sooo awsome, its kinda a pain, when i have to change the rubber bands, because they snap after about 20 or 30 launches, or else the band frays & goes into the plactice faces of the riders, & last but not least i also on every other 5 inches i covered the red track with masking tape so the track is white red, white red, ect but ill get PIC ASAP ill try to do it tomorrow, have them up in 24 hours thanks.....tell me what you think...

Yeah Joe@cp04, I couldn't find any screaming serpent kits at the toys r us or mall mart, they would have them at the lowest price. I had to go with the rippen rocket kit to try to make a steel coaster that has a 90 degree drop with a twist to the left. I am trying to make a sled like MF has, and use string to pull it up the 3' 5" lift. I have finished it put, the train doen't make all the way around. So me and my brother have been smoothing out the turns and stright sections put it just makes it half way. When I busted out the tape mesure it came to 63' 9" long of track, and goes under and over its self 5 or 6 times. I made the lift look like Magnums lift in a way( and with a lighting rode at the top on the side). I am thinking about taking the long turn and making it in to come fast bunny hills to help keep the speed up. With that I have used up almost all the parts to make it. When my brother was doing some work on it, I was making a full running working maintains track section. I have almost finished that, it cools really sweet to see it in action. My next projcet if I work out the problems with the one know I was going to tune my 2 rippen rocket in to a working TTD, with the station stye, lights to count do to and some sound effects, with painting my two rippen rocket cars the same colors of TTD ones. But that would have to wait another week or two. You know what would be really sweet to see a rippen rocket, TTD stye with all the suff that the real one has and put it next to the lanuch track and have them take off at the same time with both x-mas trees counting down to green.
mine has a Christmas Tree, but it dosent count down to the launch, & i use Screamin Serpent Cars on my TTD, Launch it W/ Rubber Bands, forget about thoes little launchers, I am trying to get my pictures downloaded onto my computer, well....hell i think im gonna do it today, screw it, im ridding my bike up to CVS Right now, & ill show you the pictures, you guys have all waited long enough....
HURRY UP AND UPLOAD THE PICTURES!!!....lol...no but seriously you've been saying you'd get 'em up soon and its been forever...i wanna se them [sigh] okay okay take ur time...lol

I've been hearing some stuff from the Lemon Chill guy lately, you wanna hear what he told me?

Screamin' Serpent is not being manufactured or shipped to stores anymore...I e-mailed k'nex and asked them...[sigh] I never even got the chance to buy one, and whenever I try to win one by bidding for it on e-bay, I lose...I don't know why they'd stop making them, they'd be rolling in a lot more money!!!

I haven't bulit my TTD yet, but I am drawing up plans for the station, spray painting the car's, and adding the small goodyear tires, spolers, and if a can make it a engine. I'm thinking about using the railroads yellow and green lights for the launch, if your thinking how I am going to do this, well by connecting the three yellow lights to a four way switch or pad, then connect the green to the fourth switch. To make them count down. You just push the switches in order. To hide the wires, just make a frame out of come type of soft medal or wood. When I was looking for a screamin serpent set, all I found was the rippen rocket and the ferris wheel or ferris wheel set of three. My first design with my SS and RR didn't work. I gave up with It and kept the lift and first hill, but put in come small hill and a sec chain lift. Then about 20 min ago I made my sled for the first hill, the chain I had wasn't long enought to steach the distance. It works just like MF one does. I'm thinking about spray painting the SS train to make it look like MF's trains. *** Edited 9/8/2004 11:58:48 PM UTC by daniel smith***
are you using the rippin rocket train for your TTD, & just using the Boosters?
& i htink im going to have o get myself a SS from Toysrus.com for a mere 49.99 but it'll be worth it to finish up my MF, so it'll be sweet, & im also working on a toothpick Wicked Twister

Yes I will be using the rippen rocket train's for my TTD. The only problum is that on the one that I am working on right know, I was going to us the RR boosters but, I couldn't take the top's of them off. Like it is sealed with something. I got all the screws out of it. But beause to the RR boosters to launch the SS train you need to cut the part that over hanges the black disks. I've seen other people do it from K'nexs fans sites. I tried so hard to get that darn thing open. You would think that the boosters had to come open due to that fact that all boosters have moving parts in them, and if ran enough the moters would have problems or bad wireing. The thing would have to be open up to have the thing fixed. And how did you Joe@cp04 bulided your TTD and WT out of just using toothpicks. Those things are so some and sharp.
well im just starting my Wicked Twister, & just finishing up the TTD, I still have a lot of work, i need to make the station, the track, , & im going to mount it on a little wooden board, so im going to have to make the surrondings, but that wont be nearly as hard as the whole structure of Top Thrill Dragster im almost ready to spray paint it, i have to sand it down first but that wont take long, its almost been 3 weeks it takes awhile to dry, thats the only thing thats keeping me from doing this quicker, but Wicked Twister shouldnt take nearly as long, but i'll have to wait & see..., & also i cut the ends off the toothpicks, so that the steel structure dosent have any aeras where its bigger then others,
Power Tower this wouldnt be that hard either, lol......, im not even going to try a wooden coaster.....way too much work

I made PKI's Beast's track and the station with tooth picks, long tooth picks the kind you us for cooking veges on the grill, and a lot of balas wood. When I made it the Beast still had skid brakes. I painted them black. I haven't finished it all the way. I just need to finish the line turnstyles and may be the large poster that in the station that say The Beast is Unleashed. I just got the paint to spray my SS trains to look like MF's. On my pingpong table with a large sheet of plywood on it I have a SS and RR coaster that goes on the outersides of the table and putting my TTD on in the center with the ferris wheel some were and put foot pathes using plaster to make it look like concert. And the lines to the rides and food stalls with some other stuff. The hole point is that I'm tring to make it in to a small theme park with two or three big rides. I wish that K'nex would put the SS in stores. By the way people like us use them to bulid our super coasters and buy extra stuff they were selling off the selfs. *** Edited 9/9/2004 9:03:31 PM UTC by daniel smith***
yeah, just because a new Knex coaster comes onto the market, dosnt mean they have to discontinue the old ones, you could still use them, they would still sell
I'm makin a top thrill dragster model out of knex. I've got the launch pad done , but I'll get pictures when Im completely done. *** Edited 9/10/2004 1:07:02 PM UTC by Jizakey***

I have been making my station platform with the lines and paths, out of balsa wood. I would be starting my TTD in a day or two. I would look weard to see the hill disapear inbetween the floor joists. I've gone to my local Johnstoys to look for some lights for my stations and launch. I would have to use clear light and put come type of colored fillter or glass to get the yellow and green to light up.
Im still working on my wooden TTD about 7 inches tall, it should be all painted, & done in a couple of weeks, its'll take a while to get all the details in *** Edited 9/11/2004 12:43:05 AM UTC by Joe@cp04***
how tall is your TTD going to be, mine is hard enough, due to all the small pieces, & its auctually a 1/720th scale lol.
I also started a small ttd model. Right now the three dowel rods have been screwed in and the liquid nails are drying. My ttd is only about 10 inches tall.
