The annual Christmas video has just been released:
Brian
Valravn Rides: 24| Steel Vengeance Rides: 27| Dragster Rollbacks: 1
Wow, the time it took to shoot and edit that video, I don't even want to know
Biggest thing, HOW did they edit the opening segment of that video. That was about one of the coolest effects I've ever seen for a video. Speaking of who did the opening narration? Sounded almost like Greg Scheid (GM/VP @ KI).
Have a good time off with friends & family folks at CP. Thanks again for an awesome season and all the hard work this off season will bring to get ready for another fun filled year in 2016!

I Loved it! They forgot to show Rougarou though, Oh well. Valravn is the new ride after all. I like how they threw three or four songs in there too! My favorite one they did was the sleigh bell song. My favorite part overall was when they showed the Peanuts characters.

It's not as complex as it may seem. It's a simple effect that you add to the video and tweak till you get the desired look. I assume they use Adobe Premiere to edit their videos but they could also be using Final Cut Pro for Mac.

Yeah it really isn't that difficult once you have spent a little time using an editing program, which by now Tony has. Most come with built-in filters that you overlay onto your footage and as Adam said, you just tweak it here and there to achieve your final look. A video like that could be edited over a weekend if you know what you are doing. The time it took to shoot it was probably longer than that to edit it. I shoot videos like this for Disney all the time and once I got used to the editing, I can knock them out pretty quick. The last video I shot for Magic Kingdom was filmed over the course of a month but I edited the short in about 9 hours and it was the most complex video I had shot yet.
Ummm. What is the coaster on the far right in the skyline image?
3 Years of Fun!
Professional button presser.
Wearer of lime green and blue.
Mean Streak doesn't have blue trains and it is odd that it would be shown on a skyline picture up front. Granted it is not an accurate skyline by the positions of everything. Especially Windseeker and Giant Wheel

I mean I've used those for videos I produced for work at my last job and some side projects, but that looked pretty in depth for a simple video like that.

Eh......lol :)
The difficult part is knowing how to adjust levels or inputting the right values based on various things. It also depends on the effect. Some are straight forward and some are a little more involved.

There are plenty of filters that do shortcuts these days. The presets in something like Magic Bullet can achieve pretty much any look. They're great tools, but they don't compensate for crappy shooting or editing (which is not this, just making a point).

Why not enjoy the Christmas video they put on every year, and stop worrying what rides are in an inaccurate animated picture. We all know Wicked Twister should be in there too, but I can't even find a dang snow globe in the gift shop with it ;)
