Cedar Point, Chippewa Lake, & Mill Race.

Not certain if this should be posted at Coaster Buzz or here. I decided here because it has to do somewhat with the old Mill Race flume ride that receded on the spot currently occupied by Raptor's Lift hill and station.

Talking with a CP veteran I found that Cedar Point and Chippewa Lake were opened around the same time. In fact Cedar Point and Chippewa Lake Park have, on more than one occasion, sold rides to each other (though, I am not sure which). When the owners ditched the park (literally) the parks property was acquired by a new owner. Cedar Point still kept good relations with the owner of the now defunct amusement park. The owner rented a great deal of the property, including the beach, employee dorms, and even part of the park itself. You will never guess who rented the park out. I will give you a hint. It's big, on a peninsula, and just built a three hundred foot roller coaster. That's right. Cedar Point or Cedar Fair, rather. I am not sure what they used the park for. Talk around upper management at that time was that they planned on storing the Mill Race there if it didn't find a new owner. I must say that the Mill Race is not there now or I just didn't see it when I was there this past weekend (TR at Coaster Buzz). It may have been sold before it ever made it to the park. He did recall a park in Florida was eyeing the ride. It is possible that the ride was (or still is) there (CL).

I am not sure if this is true, but it would explain a lot of strange things in that park (such things are listed in my TR).
