Cedar Point Burlesque show

It seems that some of the attire in that Halloweekend's floor show is a bit too risqué for a family-friendly event. I was surprised just how Frederick's of Hollywood it was. This isn't The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is a show where children as young as they get are watching. The actual panties and fishnet stockings are out of place. I know all will find reasons to disagree with me, but I am wright on this one.

You could see that from the webcams?

CoasterHawk:

This isn't The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I mean, they literally have peanuts characters dancing to The Time Warp.

CoasterHawk:

but I am wright on this one.

Like the brothers that pioneered flight?

But anyway, the show is just fine, watched it several times this season with my daughter and numerous of her friends that we brought to the point. So far none of them are damaged or pregnant from seeing the show…

Haunt at Kings Dominion has a show called Black Widow Burlesque that leans even more into the look and vibe of a burlesque show. It's possible next season HalloWeekends might see a smaller-scale midway show like that with Celebration Stage presumably out of the picture.

"Thank the Phoenicians!"

CoasterHawk, I completely understand that everyone has and is entitled to their own opinion, and I am definitely 100% cool with that.

What I don’t understand and can’t wrap my head around is why you come on here and complain about the park every chance you get. Yes sometimes we as the GP/enthusiasts have a hard time with certain policies etc; but in the end, we are not part of the management team /corporate that makes the decisions.

Also I know that they are 2 completely different things, but post Covid you should be thankful that CP still has live entertainment. My cousin works for the Disney Cruise-line organizing the entertainment, and he said that they have been having a hard time finding people post Covid.

And final point all due respect if you don’t like something that the park is doing or don’t like that it’s done a certain way, get on the cedar point website and submit your comment on their contact us page. It literally goes straight to management. Either that, or apply for a job at the park, sawmill, castaway, or sports force.

Geez, times have changed. It used to be back in the early 70's that a few teens (allegedly) had to go down to creepy E. 4th & Prospect in Cleveland with fake ID's to see a burlesque show. Now apparently available at CP.

Wow! Slippery slope… next thing you know they’ll start serving hard liquor in the park too!

Heck, I'd consider wearing some fishnets and low cut apparel if i can skip a few lines here and there...

Sit tight fellas ;)

Why are the buckets still sitting in the station??? Those should have been the first thing that gets removed!!!

Many of the stinky sweaty people in line after several hours in the park in the summer is way more offensive to me than anything the live E can throw at me.

If women giving sexual vibes frightens or offends you, I don't think the problem is with the women.

I saw the show and liked it, and didn't find it shocking or anything. That said, I can see where CoasterHawk is coming from: I agree that it was a little more sexually charged than I normally expect from a show at Cedar Point. No more so, however, than I expect most kids see on TV by the time they're old enough to pay attention.

I actually find the Peanuts characters doing the Time Warp weirder, even though they changed the lyrics to make them "kid friendly."

The thing about "sexually charged" is that kids tiny enough don't really get that message. They are just entertained by a mesmerizing show by some seriously talented people. A 7-year old child does not view the material through the same lens that a 27 year old does. Or an 87 year old that doesn't go to the park but posts on Pointbuzz.

I watched the show multiple times, and would happily bring my youngest daughter (13) every time because it was awesome. And since the park axed the Tell Tale Heart (which was easily the best show), this was all that was left worth watching.

Promoter of fog.

I'm sad they got rid of the Tell-Tale Heart too, but I liked both the shows on the Celebration Stage and the one at Lusty Lil's. The Lusty Lil's show was my favorite this year. I did not get to see the Red Garter show. It was always too packed when I walked by near a show time.

I saw Fangs at Red Garter twice this season. They're a very talented group!

JUnderhill,

Yes, but these images plant seeds. Children will listen, children will see. So many young people act and

dress like whoes anymore and do we wonder why? It is what they are exposed to everywhere but

Cedar Point should not be one of them.

Cool, we'll check back in about 10 years when the seeds of Cedar Point have fully taken root in my kids and they grow up to be horrible people dressing like "whoes".
